The Turkey Trot Make-Along is a free, step-by-step event for both knitters and crocheters that takes place right here over Thanksgiving weekend. Each day, you’ll get a new section of the pattern — like a mystery project revealed one piece at a time — and you can follow along with my video tutorials to make it super easy, even if you’re newer to knitting or crochet.

Do I have to use the exact same yarn?
Not at all! You can use any yarn that gets you to gauge — but we do recommend Universal Yarn Deluxe Worsted (available from our friends at Herrschners) because it gives the perfect texture for these designs. If you’re sensitive to wool, check out Premier Everyday DK or Premier Everyday Worsted — both make great substitutes! 💕

Criteria for chance to win:
You must have a finished project by 11:59pm ET DECEMBER 8, 2025!
Photo of your finished project must be posted in the Marly’s Minions group in the photo thread (if you post your photo anywhere else it will not be an entry to win) ETA: you can post on instagram as well but you MUST use the hashtag!
There is 1 prize for every 50 entries. What does that mean? If 100 people enter photos on the special thread, we will give away two prizes. If 500 people enter photos of their finished project on the special thread we will give out 10 prizes!!! There will be a max giveaway of 20 total prizes.
All the winners will be randomly selected and the winners will be announced on Dec. 10th on the Marly’s Minions FB Group.

Hello, I signed up for the crocheter silver platter. I am attempting to order the yarn from Herrshner’s, but do not see a kit for the project. IS there a kit or do I have to individually enter all of the yarn? Thank you. I am so looking forward to the cowl AND the ruana!
Hello Michelle, there is not a set kit as so many people wanted to pick and choose which colors they put together. So you should choose them individually 🙂
