Marly’s Favorite Patterns 2021
2021 is almost over! To celebrate reaching the end of another year, I’ve gathered together some of my favorite patterns of the year. There are patterns I designed, patterns other Stitch Ambassadors designed, and patterns available on Yarnspirations.com. As you’re planning your projects for 2021, don’t miss these projects!

My Designs
These five patterns include knit and crochet ones, and reflect patterns I published throughout the year. If you only know how to knit or only know how to crochet, the BiCrafty Bootcamps I designed will help you out!
Confetti Dots Granny Blanket
A project for the BiCrafty Bootcamp, this blanket is perfect for beginner crocheters, or anyone who wants to add a pop of color!

Love Light Gleams Stocking
Designed for the Christmas in July Stitch-Along, this knit stocking is covered in beautiful colorwork patterns!

Hidden Pocket Steeked Cardigan
I designed this knit cardigan for a knit-along with Yarnspirations in spring 2021. I designed it so new knitters can accomplish it, but there are lots of hidden details to make it fun for experienced knitters as well!

Feel the Heat Mittens
Inspired by the mittens Bernie Sanders wore at the inauguration, these patterned mittens come in both knit and crochet versions so everyone can have a pair!

Creekside Crochet Ruana
This ruana combines the Turkey Trot 2020 projects: a ruana like the knitting project, with the stitch pattern of the crochet project. The ruana has pockets so it’s the perfect layering piece!

Stitch Ambassador Designs
The Stitch Ambassadors are other bloggers who work with Yarnspirations! Here are some patterns they designed this year.
Daisy Farm Crafts
The Crochet Snowy Mountains Baby Blanket uses a triangle pattern to make little snowy mountains.

The Crochet Crowd
The Study of Geometry Stitch Along is a highly-textured blanket featured in a crochet-along.

Beatrice Ryan Designs
The Crochet with Me Mystery CAL allows you to make a project without knowing the finished look.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of patterns are featured in this post?
Oh, honestly… it’s a mix of patterns I designed myself and some super talented Stitch Ambassadors designed too! There are crochet and knit patterns, with skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced. So, something for everyone!
I’m new to knitting, can any of these patterns help me?
Yes! So glad you asked. I designed the BiCrafty Bootcamps specifically to help you learn to knit or crochet. There are links to those right in the “My Designs” section … they are a great starting point if you’re just dipping your toes in!
Are all these patterns free?
Most of them are free patterns, honey! Some are available on Yarnspirations.com, and others are linked to the designers’ blogs. A few of my own designs are also available as premium PDFs in my shop, which is great if you want an ad-free experience.
What’s the “Feel the Heat Mittens” pattern like?
So here’s the thing… those mittens were inspired by Bernie Sanders’ famous inauguration mittens! They’re super fun and come in both knit and crochet versions, so no one has to miss out on a cozy pair.
Are there any projects for beginners specifically?
Absolutely! The Confetti Dots Granny Blanket is perfect for beginner crocheters, and I also highlighted a few beginner-friendly patterns from Yarnspirations, like the Beginner Crochet Hat. We’ve got you covered!
