Learn to Crochet the Lacy Isosceles Shawl:
The crochet Lacy Isosceles Shawl is a FREE pattern from Red Heart Yarns and designed by Lisa Gentry (last I knew, she was the worlds fastest crocheter). Another beautiful NEW pattern using the NEW Super Saver Ombre yarn from Red Heart. This pattern is made with only ONE ball of Super Saver Ombre yarn. This crochet pattern uses a lacy stitch with increases and decreases. If this is something that you haven’t tried before don’t worry, I am here to help. I have recorded a video tutorial to help you every step of the way. Grab your yarn and learn something new with me.
Red Heart has just launched a NEW Super Saver yarn. Super Saver is Red Heart’s biggest selling yarn and they are stepping it up a notch with this new Ombre yarn. Many people have been loving the other Cake Yarns that are out on the market but they are not a gradient yarn like this. Red Heart made the Ombre Super Saver Yarn in a generous ball size so you can make beautiful projects like this Lacy Isosceles Shawl with just ONE ball!
About Super Saver Ombre:
Super Saver Ombre yarn is a tonal yarn that gradually shifts from one color to the next. Unlike the popular cakes on the market, this yarn does not abruptly stop and change colors. The colors in the ball are all variations of the same color. Throughout the ball the colors will go from light to dark and back again. Depending on the look you want you can choose to start your project at any of the colors. Red Heart is offering 10 colors in the Ombre yarn, giving you a lot of choices.
About the Lacy Isosceles Shawl:
One of the things that I love doing is showing you how to make the project so that you have success and love what you make. For this project you will need to pick out the color that you love of the new Ombre yarn. After you have your supplies you can watch my two part tutorial video where I show you all the steps to complete the shawl.
Part one of the video series shows you how to start the shawl and how to do increases. Part two will show you how to decrease and how to finish off your shawl. You can view the two videos below or on my YouTube Channel where you can also find other tutorials on projects and how to videos to help you with all of your knitting and crochet projects.
One of the interesting things about this shawl is that it is not worked as most shawls are. Typically you would start a triangle shawl at the point, working to the long end, or along the bottom, working to the point. For this shawl you will start at the tip of the wing, increasing until you get to the center and then decreasing down the other side.
Along with having a video tutorial to follow along with Red Heart has made this a very helpful pattern by including both the written instructions and charts. In the videos I will show you how to read crochet charts so you won’t get lost. I love when a pattern has both versions as it is a great check and balance system to make sure you are doing what the designer intended.
I hope that you will join me in making this beautiful shawl in the amazing new Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn.
