I’m so excited! You’re going to love this…it’s time to announce the annual JOANN 2023 Spring Stitch Along!
Drum roll, please…
But before I tell you what we’re making, let me tell you there’s something for both knitters and crocheters. They are different project types, but no matter which you choose, you’ll have fun. I’m sure of it.
I’ll take care of the knitting project and Mikey of The Crochet Crowd will be helping the crocheters. We all get to join in the fun.
So, What is the JOANN 2023 Spring Stitch Along?
Well, it’s an opportunity for crafters to get together and work on the same project at the same time. You can share notes, show your progress, ask questions, and generally enjoy the online company of other crafters. I’ll tell you how in just a bit.
This year, I get to show you everything you need to know to make this gorgeous Check Please Knit Ruana. The Yarnspirations design team worked on this project and I LOVE it! I’ve been wearing it already!
It’s a knit mosaic stitch project, and I can’t wait to get you started. But I’ll have to wait.
When do we start the Spring Stitch Along?
Monday, March 27th, is when the JOANN 2023 Spring Stitch Along kicks off, and it’ll run for four weeks.
I’ll break it into 4 sections, so you’ll get your pattern instructions over the course of those four weeks. Seriously, guys, knitting your own ruana will be a breeze. I’ll make sure of it.
I’ll be teaching you tips, tricks, and shortcuts on helpful videos to be sure you easily succeed.
What supplies do we need?
For your Check Please Knit Mosaic Ruana, you’ll need:
- 2 balls of the black, 1 ball of the white colors of Caron One Pound yarn (or color of your choice)
- 1 ball multi color of Caron Jumbo
- Size US 8 (5mm) circular knitting needle (a pair – as long as possible – this has a lot of stitches, guys!)
- stitch markers will help!

JOANN 2023 Spring Stitch Along Facebook Group
Yes – there’ll be a Stitch Along Facebook Group, so you won’t be going it alone.
This is where you get to share photos of your project, discuss colorways, and generally admire everyone’s work while sharing your own progress. If you have questions, feel free to ask. Mikey and I will be in the Facebook Group answering your questions and cheering you along all the way.
