Getting ready for the beach or pool usually means getting out a cover up of some sort for the trip there and back. A cover up is a great way to add a light layer to keep the sun off without making you too hot. There are so many great beach crochet cover up patterns that I wanted to put some together so you could get started on yours for the summer.

Crocheting In the Summer:
Crocheting in the summer can some times be a tricky thing. I know that when I am getting ready to go somewhere I always make sure that I have at least two projects to work on. You know, just incase you actually finishing one. We wouldn’t ever want to be without a project.
When you are selecting the project that you will work on this summer there are a few things that you should consider.
- Fiber Content
- Size of Project
These are the two major things to consider. You will want to think about the size of the project so that it is easy to be transported once you get started. Also consider the size as it will be laying on your lap while you work. Picking a blanket to work on over the summer isn’t a bad thing, but a motif blanket would be better. Motifs allow you to work on small parts to join them at the end for something beautiful.
Think about the fiber content of your project. Try to pick something that will be light in weight and won’t stretch out too much. Experiment with the yearn that you are suing until you find something that you love.
