Craft |kraft| – noun: An activity involving skill in making things by hand
It’s March (you mean we’re already a ¼ of the way through the year?? Holy cow!!), and March is National Craft Month!
What is everyone working on? Personally, I have so many projects going right now, I couldn’t even list them. Let’s just say I’m buried in yarn and of course you know I’m loving it!!
So, in the spirit of National Craft Month, of course you know I have a super fun giveaway to tell you about!
I have a trio of books from Interweave for one lucky reader!
- Knitwear Design Workshop
- The Knitter’s Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters
- Pop Knitting

That’s it! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
I will pick a winner at the end of the month. Can’t wait to hear what everyone is working on!

WAY too many project in the works: Patricia (by Stitches of My Life Designs); Down the Aisle (by Stitches of My Life Designs) – Debbi Stone designs; the Koigu Linen Stitch Scarf (Churchmouse) , the Tiles Scarf (Ravelry), Bell Bottom Baby Pants (Twisted Sister) . . . . this is definitely becoming a problem . . I just can’t stop myself! 🙂 Nice meeting you at Stitches West!
Oh, and I forgot . . . thanks for all the GREAT, positive energy and fabulous interviews and information you share on your podcast. I am loving it!!
I am here in Alaska until May and will buy Qiviut and make a hat!
I love giveaways and I love you!! 🙂
I have way too many projects to list all but a few knit bunnies and hippos for my kids birthday. Thanks for a great giveaway!
Weaving a scarf; spinning 6 oz. of fiber (I figure I’m almost 1/3 done with that); hemming a pair of pajama pants. Just finished two pairs of fingerless mitts for the kiddos. Little projects that can be finished in a evening are so satisfying… 🙂
I have a huge case of Startitis. It happens every Spring! I try not to CO all the projects….. then I CO all the projects. le sigh. I’ve CO 2 vesty type things, a cowl, another blanket square, 2 hats, and am planning on THREE sock COs!
Great giveaway! Thanks!
Thank you for this wonderful giveaway
love giveaways and marly
I am working on a double-knit cowl, cuffed slippers, a sweater and a lace shawl… Oy! And I’ve bought 5 or 6 classes on Craftsy that I just can’t seem to get to. But I love it all!
Working on a keyhole scarf and a cotton children’s dress for my grand daughter.
I’m working on a crocheted moose for malabrigo march, a knit top-down cropped cardi, and a scrap yarn scarf!
Still plugging away on Nancy Marchant’s Alex scarf. I have the Craftsy February mystery shawl on needles, too, but I probably won’t finish it until next year sometime.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I have the body done of a February Lady Sweater (by Pamela Wynne), the body done of a Light Shade of Gray capelet (by Justyna Lorkowska), and the colorwork section of a cowl that I designed, but I need to knit a lining for it! I also have the yarn wound for a Chadwick shawl (by Stephen West) and a Spry hat (by Stacey Trock). My plan is to try to finish one or two of the mostly-done-things before I cast on for anything else, buuuuut we’ll see if that actually happens!
Time to pick a winner and guess what…YOU’RE IT! Yes, you win the wonderful prize!!! Congrats!!
Entrelac Cowl from Gwen Bortner’s Craftsy class
Too many to list, partially because I’m swamped in baby blankets for the large crop expected this year by family and friends. To keep it interesting, I try to never make the same one twice and most of them are my own design.
Knitting a lace garter for my daughters wedding. Looking for an extra-fine lace veil to make as well. Does anyone have suggestions?
Great giveaway Marly! I’m still working on the Lace Arrow Mittens from the Mittens and Gloves Galore Craftsy class.
Love the class!
I love that the first sweater you knit was the first sweater you designed. Very cool!
Marly, you are a fantastic designer and all around super person!!! Thanks for sharing you and your family with us!!!
I have a basic garter stitch blanket on the needles right now. WW yarn held double, knit in garter stitch until your brain explodes lol. I’m trying to use up some left over yarn. Later in the week I plan on starting a baby blanket.
Working on a sweater, a scarf, leggings, socks, and a hat! I guess I have a little bit of everything on my needles 🙂
For some reason my last two projects that came off my head, or shall I say my needles were very small. In fact, just tiny toys. Although I was in the middle of knitting a shawl, I knitted a little bunny holding a heart. I named it Some Bunny Loves You. Then the husband wanted a monkey, did that one too and finished today. A monkey that is swinging from a rope so he can hang it on his rear view mirror in the truck. Needless to say, mother said I have plenty of time before Easter to make all 8 of my nieces and nephews these bunnies. Not sure if I can, not sure if I have the heart to refuse but I have to see the neurologist tomorrow for my right arm. Secret is, I have been loosing strength and sensation. The doctors are not sure. I know I will have to try anyhow. I love the kid`s faces when I make them things.
Thanks for the nice giveaway!
Working on a sock, right now, as I wait for a project to come to me 🙂 Socks are pure travelling awesomeness!
What a great way to celebrate!
Well . . . Today I am casting on another pair of socks (thank you, Marly for teaching me how to knit socks!) with some gorgeous Lorna’s Laces yarn. This one is from Socktopus. I just started another feather and fan baby blanket, which I make as donation blankets for my church.
How awesome! I’m working in Still Light in a dark blue. Hope to finish it by summer. I’m such a slow knitter.
I’m casting on some socks from Socktopus — thank you, Marly, for teaching me how to knit socks! I also have a fan and feather baby blanket on the needles. I donate these to my church to give to children who are baptized there.
I have a few projects on the needles … concentrating on socks for my grand-daughter, crest of the wave scarf, and others sitting awaiting attention. Love that sweetheart tunic you designed…. but I have not found any of your designs I did not like 😉
Your podcasts make the drive home better, and you have great giveaways
I am currently (forever) working on a bargello afghan for hubby. I am new to your podcasts, but I can tell you that I am already hooked. Thanks!
i am working on top call gidget tee with tracks yarn i dye myself
I’m working on hats on the knifty knitters – going to a crochet and knit festival this weekend where I’m going to demo how to use them – then I have a shawl on one loom and an infinity scarf in zpgetti yarn on my needles
I am working on a Swirl sweater from the “Knit, Swirl” book… almost to the homestretch!
I think if I began to list all the projects I’m working on, I’d surely run out of characters…however, to name a few, a new scarf design, more patterns for my upcoming book (# 2), a crochet afghan using fingering weight yarn (I know, right?), a knitted afghan with beautiful cables, lets see, what else? Ok, that’s enough.
I have started TWO major projects, 1. Rock Island Shawl for my future DIL to wear at the wedding & 2. Brigitta for me to wear at the wedding. I only have till Oct 13th which may seem like a long way away but I want everything to be PERFECT so I am going slowly.
You are a sweetie Marly!
I’m working on an illusion knit afghan! If all goes right, American Gothic (the painting) will be visible but only when viewed from the side.
Great giveaway!
I’m working on 3 different afghans and some earrings. Thanks for the giveaway! It’s awesome!
Those look like great books for building up a knitter’s library! I’m knitting a sweet baby cardi (In Threes), a cardi for me (Honey Cardi), and a new stole design by me. Also will have a new project after a workshop with Sivia Harding this weekend. Knit on! Thanks for the giveaway.
Working on a bunny hat and diaper cover for friend’s newborn due at Easter! Thanks for the giveaway, Marly!! LOVE your podcast!!
Knitting a shawl for me and a pullover for a friend at the moment! I don’t have any physical books yet though!
This is the best month of the year. It is national craft month and my birthday! Thanks for the chance to win these knitting books. I typically crochet but have been working on my knitting skills, these books would be great for my library.
You are great, Marly. Am working on 2 pairs of socks on 2 circa. All vacation yarn from The Brown Sheep factory.
I’m lucky enough to be on Maui right now so I’m knitting dishcloths (easy travel knitting)! When I’m at home it’s a different story … too many projects on the go at one time! When will I ever learn? 🙂
I thought I was the only one with bunches of projects in progress!! LOL!!
I am working on a knitted box cabled cover from Leethalknits, a cabled Cowlsweater that is taking forever, and what I’m most excited about is a sweater I designed myself. The first time I have worked a sweater in the round bottom up (have done topdown mainly). It is colorwork and lots of fun!
