Inside Summertime Crochet:
Inside the cover of Summertime Crochet you will find beautiful photos of beautiful projects. These projects are meant to worked so that you can wear them while at the beach or in the evening when there is a little chill through the summer. Most of the projects in the book can be worked in about a day or two but there are a few that are larger. There is a granny stitch (not a granny square) sweater that will take a little longer than the headbands that are also in the book.
The book is broken down into three sections. You will find patterns in the “Day at the Beach” section, “Summer in the City” section or “Let’s Have a Party” section. At the beach you will find patterns for bathing suit tops, sandals, hats, light scarves and more. Summer in the City is where you will find the garments of the book with a sweater and a top. The patterns in Let’s Have a Party bring in some metallic yarn. This really stands out as a statement piece for when you are out on the town.
Overall I really enjoyed the beautiful photos that were in this book. I have a long list of projects to make and I am not yet sure where I will start. The colors in the Green Bay pattern caught my attention right away. Looking at this pattern I think about the ocean and the beach and everything that I love about summer. Blues and greens that you find in the ocean can also be found in this wrap. It would be perfect for taking a walk on the beach in the evening when the sun is setting.
This book was written by Helgrid Van Impelen and Verena Woehlk Appel. As friends from a previous job they found that they both had an interst in textiles and continued their friendship into a partnership for this book.

My favorite summertime crochet spot is my couch in the a/c. Heat and humidity and I aren’t friends.
I’m so excited, I can’t wait to receive my copy of Summertime Crochet!
My all time favorite place to crochet in the summer is at our place in the Smokies, listening to the river and the birds. However, I’m just happy when I have my hook going anywhere.
I am living in a condo where I look out my slider door and have a view of the pool, dock and river; with my crochet and book nearby this is my favorite place yearlong!
I usually stay indoors for summertime crochet projects. I do sometimes go to my back porch and crochet a bit while I let my dog out to run around the yard, and I feel the need to soak up some sun. I always take a bag of crochet/knit goodies with me when I go anywhere. This is way I always have something to work on whether I’m indoors or out.
In the shade with a nice breeze.
Inside in the air conditioning!
Sounds like lots of wonderful things to put on my already long list of must makes.
I love crocheting under a fan in my room in the mornings, and while watching Christmas in July movies on my couch at night!
My favorite place to crochet in the summertime is on my couch in front of the fan
My favorite summer time crochet spot is sitting in my comfy chair, soaking up some sun.
I love to crochet ANYWHERE!!!
I love to crochet by the lake either early morning or early evening when things are still a little crazy lol.
The review was excellent! My favorite place to crochet is in my recliner at home!
I really enjoy crochet outside on my porch in my Adirondack chairs.
We just bought a house not even a month ago and I haven’t found a spot that I’m overwhelmingly excited to crochet in, but that’s because we don’t have everything we need. I’m in the process of setting up our spare bedroom into a crafting room so once I get the furniture I need, that will undoubtedly be my favorite spot!
My favorite spot to crochet in the summer is in my favorite chair in air-conditioning. The best one though is in the passanpas seat on a road trip. That is rare.
love light weight summer items from cooling cotton, love to crochet on the patio in the shade with a light wind blowing.
My summertime place to crochet is on the back deck, under an umbrella, with soft music in the background and a tall glass of iced tea by my side.
My favorite spot is on our screened in porch that looks out into our woods.
My summertime place is my chair in the bedroom with a glass of cold tea beside me.
In my dreams it would be on the beach. In reality it is on my deck.
Living in Texas is HOT in the summer so my favorite summertime crochet spot is on my comfy couch, enjoying the air conditioning.
Anywhere there is an air conditioner. It’s hot here but today is only going to get to 99 they said which is better than the 115 we’ve been having.
On my couch in the living room with the air on. I usually put a good movie on the TV…. one I’ve seen 100 times but love. That way I don’t make mistake following the pattern. Lol
I don’t do the heat well so it’s usually inside with a fan while listening to some soothing music on youtube. Though if it’s cooler I will be on my back porch under the canopy with my dog running around chasing flies lol
Almost anyplace inside under the air conditioner. I am not an outside person especially in the heat.
I love sitting on my deck watching the birds as I crochet.
My favorite crochet spot in summer or winter is my special, comfortable chair. I suppose that is boring. I love the mountains and beach, but am not comfortable crocheting outside.
My current favourite crochet spot is on my deck under the canopy. I get to enjoy summer crocheting without melting!
My favorite place to crochet it on the pool deck while the kids swim in the pool. Also by the beach when we vacationed.
My favorite place to crochet is on my front porch or when not home is truck hall at the firehall.
My favorite place to crochet is really anywhere I am at the time.
My favorite crocheting and knitting spot is on the couch next to the window! Nothing like having natural light coming in and feeling the sun while I watch my hulu and do my craft with a huge cup of chai tea latte!
Summers are hot here in upstate South Carolina so I like to crochet by a window with a pretty view, take it with me to the beach and crochet on the balcony, or in the car while on a road trip with my husband and kids!
I am in Alabama and its HOT in the summer and nasty outside so I like to sit in my chair with the air looking at the window from INSIDE the house. 🙂
Anywhere I can watch my kiddos play!
