Frequently Asked Questions

We’re at Section 3… now what?

Honestly… you’ve made it to the home stretch of the Marly Bird Granny Square Motif Cardigan Crochet-along! This section is all about getting started on the edging of your beautiful cardigan. Give yourself a pat on the back for all the work you’ve done so far!

What materials do I need for the edging?

So here’s the thing… you’ll need RED HEART® Boutique Unforgettable® yarn in your chosen color, a 4 mm (US G-6) Susan Bates® Crochet Hook, Susan Bates® split lock stitch markers, and a bent tip tapestry needle. You’ve probably got most of this already if you’ve been following along!

How do I handle the corners when I’m doing the edging?

Yes! Great question. The designer note says that when you get to a corner of the cardigan body, you’ll start the repeat in the same picot you just finished. This creates two single crochets in that corner picot, which helps the edging turn the corner nice and smoothly.

Where do I post my progress pictures for the giveaway?

Oh, this is an easy one! You’ll want to post your pictures in the official CAL Facebook group. That’s where all the entries are collected and where the winners will be announced each week.

When is the full cardigan pattern available?

The full pattern will be available for free on RedHeart.com once the Crochet-along is complete. But don’t worry… you can find all the sections here on the blog for free, even after the CAL is over!
