Whether you hang your stockings on the mantel or other special place for Santa to fill, this Fair Isle design is a definite holiday favorite. Knit in the colors shown or changed to match your own holiday decor, it will become a treasured heirloom.

Red, gray, and white knitted holiday stocking featuring fair isle patterns, knitting needles, scissors, and yarn.

This stocking is essentially a super sized version of a sock. This is a great introduction into your first pair of socks. Rather than starting with small needles and thin yarn give this stocking a try to understand the concept.

Worked with three colors of Red Heart With Love and a variety of fair isle patterns when you finish you will have an heirloom item. To add some more texture to the stocking it was designed to use Fur yarn at the cuff. Don’t be intimidated by switching between three different needle types to finish this pattern, just take it one step at a time and work along with me.
