About Super Saver Fair Isle:
Super Saver Fair Isle is the same Super Saver you love but now in new prints. Prints magically appear as you stitch – no need to change colors, one skein does it all! Best of all it is still a center pull skein!
Super Saver Fair Isle allows you to get a Fair Isle look without all of the work of changing colors. It will NOT be exactly how it would if you were doing the patterning yourself from a chart. The pattern in the video tutorial is designed to place the color changes in a way so that the yarn is working in the most optimal way.
Faux Fair Isle Crochet Scarf Materials:
- RED HEART® Super Saver Fair Isle®: 2 skeins 7245 Candy
- Susan Bates® Crochet Hook: 5.5mm [US I-9]
- Yarn needle
What you will Learn:
In this video tutorial of the Faux Fair Isle Crochet Scarf you will learn more than just how to work the pattern.
- Starting Chain
- Adding a new ball of yarn
- Weaving in your ends
- How to use a removable stitch marker
Edited to add: since the release of this pattern, Yarnspirations has remade the scarf using Red Heart Super Saver Ombre. Yes, this pattern can be made using the Ombre yarn but you will not get the desired Faux Fair Isle look the yarn makes. I suspect Yarnspirations is discontinuing this yarn and wants to still use the pattern.

Frequently Asked Questions
What yarn is used for this scarf?
So here’s the thing… this scarf uses Red Heart Super Saver Fair Isle yarn! It’s a new yarn from Red Heart that magically makes prints appear as you stitch, so you don’t have to change colors yourself. So fun, right?
Do I need to know how to change colors for this pattern?
Honestly… nope! That’s the beauty of the Super Saver Fair Isle yarn. The yarn itself creates the color changes for you, giving you that faux Fair Isle look without all the fiddly work of switching yarns. It makes the whole process super breezy!
Can I use Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn instead?
Yes! You can totally use the Ombre yarn for this pattern, but here’s the scoop… you won’t get that distinct Faux Fair Isle look that the special Fair Isle yarn gives you. The pattern is designed specifically for how the Fair Isle yarn works up.
What do I need to make this scarf?
Okay, so you’ll need two skeins of RED HEART® Super Saver Fair Isle® yarn in the color 7245 Candy, a 5.5mm (US I-9) crochet hook, and a yarn needle for weaving in those ends. Easy peasy!
What skills will I learn from the video tutorial?
You’ll learn so much more than just how to crochet the scarf itself! The video covers how to do your starting chain, how to add a new ball of yarn when you need it, weaving in your ends like a pro, and even how to use a handy removable stitch marker. Pretty neat, huh?
