Frequently Asked Questions
What’s this blanket named after?
So here’s the thing… this lovely blanket is named after my good friend, Michele Byars! She’s wonderful, and I wanted to honor her with this design.
What kind of crochet technique is used?
Honestly… this pattern uses a really cool join-as-you-go method for the motifs. It makes putting the blanket together a breeze once your little medallions are done!
How big does the Byars Baby Blanket turn out?
Yes! It’s a pretty generous size… it measures about 54 inches from corner to corner, which is a lovely size for a baby or even a lapghan.
What yarn and hook do I need?
For this one, I used Red Heart With Love yarn in Tan, Chocolate, and Mallard, with a size I-9 (5.5 mm) hook. But don’t let that stop you… use whatever colors call to you!
Is there a video tutorial for this?
Absolutely! I know that join-as-you-go can be a little tricky sometimes… so I made a video to walk you through creating those motifs. You can find it linked right on the page!
