Nordic, Norwegian, Scandinavian, and Fair Isle Knit Books

It’s easy to get confused about the similarities and differences between these types of knitting. Generally speaking, Scandinavia refers to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Nordic is a broader term that includes these places as well as Finland, Iceland, and associated territories such as Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

When it comes to knitting, there’s actually a specific knitting technique called Norwegian knitting. But sometimes people simply refer to the pattern style as Norwegian (or Nordic, or Scandinavian).
