New Crochet Stitch Dictionaries
It’s always good to add fresh new stitch dictionaries to your craft library. They keep you inspired and learning new things.

According to the Amazon description: “Whether you have recently discovered crocheting, or whether you have wielded your hook for years, this book will become your go-to resource—either for stitch pattern ideas to try out, or for inspiration to create and come up with your own designs.” It includes charts as well as written instructions and photographs.
Let this book’s subtitle explain it to you: A Stitch Dictionary and Design Resource with 156 Stitches with 7 Practice Projects. Looks like an interesting one that probably differs Fromm other crochet stitch dictionaries in your collection.
A Modern Guide to Textured Crochet: A Collection of Wonderfully Tactile Stitches
This looks like it will be a sort of stitch dictionary for all of the textured stitches. It will show you how to make things like clusters and bobbles and popcorn stitches.
New Books for Learning How to Crochet
Every year there are new crochet books for people who are interested in learning the craft. Even advanced crocheters may find that they enjoy the basic patterns in these books so don’t overlook them when doing this year’s shopping for your craft library.
This book is unique because it’s a “how to crochet” book but also a book of creative crochet patterns. Beginners will easily be able to learn how to crochet from this book. And then there’s such a unique range of different projects. On the one hand, there are a lot of things for little ones. For example, crochet foldable hot dogs and hamburgers for baby to play with on the kitchen mat that you also crochet. On the other hand, there are cute wearables for adults from a “make it in an hour” cowl to an adorably asymmetric wrap with an owl hood.

Vanessa Mooncie is known for her unique twists on incorporating animal designs into her crochet. Last year she came out with a book entirely of crochet dog patterns. Here are the 2021 amigurumi books for animals, food, toys, and more:
Put your crochet skills to new use with these unique patterns for amigurumi versions of famous heroes. Amelia Earhart and Albert Einstein are listed in the description but on the cover it looks like we also see Frida Kahlo and Prince.
Subtitled: Patterns for 24 dolls and 60 clothes and accessories. That’s right – you don’t just get crochet doll patterns. Additionally, you get the patterns to make clothes and accessories for those dolls. I bet we could make some cute gifts using this crochet book.
This author has done some great collections of amigurumi crochet animal patterns in the past. This new one, featuring a combination of farm animals and forest animals, looks like it will be pretty cute, too.
If you love Pokemon – or have someone in your life who does – then you’ll want to make all 20 of the Pokemon crochet patterns in this new book.
This is a crochet kit. It comes with the crochet book that has twelve Kawaii patterns. There are three puppies: a pug, a corgi, and a shiba inu. Plus other animals like a raccoon, a fat cat, and otters holding hands. The kit also includes the materials to make two of the projects.
Rather than small amigurumi, these are larger cuddly stuffed animal toys. It looks like the book includes a story that introduces each of the characters in turn. So if you make these creatures for a little one in your life then you might also share the story with them.
This crochet designer has a lot of adorable crochet books to choose from. Last year it was wild animals; this year it’s woodland creatures.

You can use these to decorate a table for display. Alternatively, make them for a child in your life. In fact, one of the most unique things about The Crochet Bakery is that there’s a pattern for the baker of a dollhouse, so you can make the baker and all of her little cakes to gift to a young person.
And More New Crochet Books in 2021
There are a few new. crochet books that are so unique that they don’t quite fit into any of the categories above. And that’s awesome because they’re different from everything else. Check them out!
Wow! There are hundreds of books of crochet patterns out there in the world. But there are so few really unique “must get this” crochet books out there. This one is one of those. Colorful Crochet: 35 designs to bring the benefits of color into your life
I could have included this in the “home decor” section above because there are so many beautiful makes for the home. Additionally, there are garments and accessories so I could have added it to that section. But what’s really special about this book is that it’s all about color therapy. There are so many benefits of crochet and craft as therapy, and color is one aspect of that.
Here’s an excerpt from the book’s Amazon description:
“There is a chapter for each season, to reflect the colours of nature in spring, summer, fall, and winter, and then a chapter of “four seasons” designs, showing you how to mix shades from different times of the year. With notes on the color therapy benefits of different patterns, and suggestions for switching shades to suit your own preferences, you will soon be crocheting in full color.”
What new crochet books are you most looking forward to this year?
