Seamless Knit Sweaters in two weeks? It seems like an impossible task for some but Marie of Olive Knits shows you how it is possible. If you think that two weeks is fast you should check out her 4 day sweater challenge! That will really knock your socks off! Join me LIVE on the Yarn Thing Podcast for this special episode with Marie as we learn about her story, her process, and her new book.
About Olive Knits:
Marie Greene is the designer behind the scenes (and needles) of Olive Knits. She is also the author of Seamless Knit Sweaters, in two weeks. She learned to knit at her grandmother’s side when she was around 11 years old and – as her family and friends can attest – she never puts her needles down.
Marie loves spreadsheets, Nordic Noir, sturdy bags with handles, rainy days and dinner parties. She’s an early EARLY riser (4 AM! Yikes!), loves Mondays. Coffee, Pinot Noir, stinky cheese and nachos.
Marie is known for seamless sweaters that fit well for any figure and focuses on timeless designs that you’ll wear for years to come. In addition to her designs, Marie travels the world teaching sweater knitting techniques, leads a thriving community of knitters online and is the author of the new book Seamless Knit Sweaters in 2 Weeks.
Seamless Knit Sweaters, in two weeks:
Within this book you will find a collection of 20 knit sweater designs and all of them are seamless! Featured in this book you will find classic, wearable styles with modern details.
Marie bust through the myth that knitting a sweater will take you months to accomplish. She wanted to get readers wearing high-quality knits in only two weeks. Don’t assume that these will all be basic sweater patterns. Each pattern in the book as just the right amount of details to them but with minimal work.
Saving on time starts with top down construction and eliminates buttonholes and simple finishing. In order to keep the pattern moving along and allow you to work on it almost anywhere, most of the patterns have large sections that are easy to memorize.
A big part of completing a sweater in a small time frame is to gauge your speed and setting a timeline. In this book you will not only learn about techniques of making a sweater but tips and tricks on becoming more efficient in your work and how to plan out each section of your project. This can be used for other projects outside of sweaters as well.

“If I drank lots of coffee would I be able to knit faster?” said the crocheter who would like to finish a knitted sweater just once.
(I currently have four UFO knit WIPs—three are sweaters). 🙁
I am not a coffee drinker but I love the smell of it.
Coffee
Coffee so cool but, I drink Tea
Carri, maybe go to a yarn store to get some support with finishing them. Or set mini-goals (two rounds on UFO #1 today). You can do it!
Coffee and knitting go so well together!
Not a COFFEE drinker, but I do enjoy my hot chocolate while working on my projects.
This podcast gives me hope that I can knit a sweater. I have been knitting for over 50 years and am self taught. A couple of years ago, when youtube came into my life, I knit only safe things. Afghans, scarves and baby things were about all my library had in it. It’s time to knit something for me!!! I now have a place I can go to if I get stuck. I found Marley in November and am so happy to think the possibility exists with her help and lots of coffee! Only another knitter can appreciate what I mean!!!
Drinking my coffee while watching the live after it aired live. I so need this book in my life. I am new to sweater knitting and a beginner knitter and from what I can tell just from this interview with Marie this book is just the thing to help me get better educated in sweater knitting for myself and others I want to knit sweaters for.
A cup of coffee and learning about Marie Greene was so much fun. I love that I will have the chance to purchase and meet her at Stitches West!
You’re interview with Marie Greene was so encouraging to new knitters. Thank you. I love coffee.

Fabulous podcast! Wow, a book in 5 months, talk about a slice of crazy pie! I am addicted to Starbucks coffee, so much so we bought stock in the company!
Mmmm coffee
I would love a copy of your book.
I’m more of a tea drinker, but I’ll go for a coffee every now and again. Can’t wait for winter. Still too hot to really get into anything huge to knit or crochet. I’d love to win this, but if I don’t I’ve already added this (and the next book) on my book depository wishlist.
I was drinking my coffee through a straw this morning while watching this podcast. I just got home from the dentist lol. I want to try a sweater, but I’m a beginner knitter. I think I’ll have to pick one of Marie’s when I get the courage 🙂
I’ve never been a Coffee drinker. But ther was a period where I. Made several tipdown sweaters using a general formula .as Christmas presents. My son .& daughters still wear them. Once I
got going they averaged about 40 hours a piece. I guess that’s about 2 weeks. Lately I’ve been doing Barbie & American doll dresses. Top down, seamless.
What a great podcast! You two are going to be such fast friends 🙂 I sat down with my coffee, my hat pattern and just enjoyed listening to you two. Looking forward to this book and so stoked they will be in bigger sizes. thanks so much for that Marie.
Coffee! Yes, please!!
I have just received my set of knitting needles and can’t wait to start knitting as I only crochet thus far. I had mentioned to Marly, on Youtube, I can’t wait to start knitting; however, I have a few projects left to do before I begin. It would be wonderful to win a copy of your book; I’ll keep my fingers crossed…

Not a big coffee drinker but I’m a huge believer and wearer of a warm comfy sweater. Unfortunately, up until now mine are all commercially made. I’ve been too intimidated to knit my own. Maybe you can help change that.
Coffee is the drink of the morning for my knitting day. Trying to get caught up on my podcasts today. Love the idea of making a sweater in two weeks.
