The My First Knit Socks on Double Pointed Needles Part 2 of 6 is the second part of your sock knitting experience. My hope is it will be a great one 🙂
This pattern is part of the 2018 spring knit-along for Red Heart Yarn and has video support for each part as well as a wonderful facebook group that is there to help as well. If you’ve never knit socks before this will be a great time to start, with my help.

FINISHED FOOT CIRCUMFERENCE MEASUREMENTS
Ladies (Mens)
8 (10.5)” [ 20.5 (26.67) cm]

MATERIALS

Yarn–RED HEART® Chic Sheep by Marly Bird™; 2 balls: #r170 Poolside
Needles–US #5/3.75mm set of 5 double pointed needles
Notions

PATTERN NOTES

Directions are for the Ladies size; with Mens size in parentheses.

Watch the video for variations to a plain stockinette leg for the sock.
If you are working along with a second set of double pointed needles and yarn to combat the dreaded second sock syndrome, be sure to complete the leg portion of your second sock as well. And if you make any changes be sure to make the same changes on the second sock.
Have patience, now that the cuff is complete we get to move into some simple stockinette. It is more important that EVER that you give those first two stitches on your right hand needle a good tug to keep them nice and snug.

Leg
Continue even in stockinette stitch (knit every round) until the sock leg is 6″ [15.2 cm] long (including cuff) or desired length.
