Crochet Costumes and More

I am so excited about the guest that we have today on the Yarn Thing Podcast. Being able to connect to Stephanie of Crochetverse is a true treat! You might have seen here around on the web before for her STUNNING halloween costumes. Wait until you hear her story about how she got started and what other beautiful designers she has besides the costumes.

About Crochetverse:

Stephanie Pokorny is the designer behind Crochetverse. She began crocheting at age 16. Instead of asking to go to the toy store, she would ask to go to the craft store. Her grandma obliged and also was the one who taught her to crochet while sitting on a well loved 70’s style couch.

Most well know for her freehand crochet costumes, such as ET and Predator; she feels blessed to have her work have gone viral a few times. It brings her great joy to share the love of the art of crochet and bring to the forefront how amazing it can be for the body, mind, and soul.

You can find her designing patterns, freehanding, doing crochet alongs, or otherwise buried in yarn in some way. Expect designs that are brightly colored, carefully written, and full of whimsy when you see the name Crochetverse.

Red Heart, Please bring back GLOW WORM! I loved this interview, Stephanie is awesome, I love that she let’s the kids play in their costumes. I was taking a crochet hiatus when my boys were little, but I did sew costumes for them and they played in them all the time. Boys like to play dress-up as much as girls. When they were teenagers I sold the costumes at a yard sale. The mom who bought them was thrilled. Now my boys wish I had them for their children. Stephanie, never let go of them, heck you know that red heart yarn will last forever. Thank you Stephanie and Marley for the fun interview.
