It’s Winter Hat Season (and sometimes fall hat season, and spring hat season)

It is that time of year to start thinking about the knit hats that you will be making. Hats are a great way to keep yourself and the rest of your family warn. They are also a great option for gifts during the holiday season. Although there is sizing for hats usually you just have to know a basic size and not an exact size to make the pattern.

Hats are also a great idea when it comes to donations. Making hats for newborns or preemie babies is a great way to use your skills to help others.

Knit Hats Designed by Marly Bird, collage of various knit hats in a variety of styles from beginner knitter to advanced knitter - Marly Bird

Red Heart has a great array of yarn that you can use for your hat projects. Try Chic Sheep by Marly Bird™ for a natural fiber or you can use Grande or Super Saver Chunky for a bulkier look. By using thicker yarns you can get all the warmth you need and it will work up quickly.

Will you be heading to a craft show this year? Hats are a great item to carry in your booth. Like I mentioned before you won’t have to work tons of sizes and if you use chunky yarn you will be able to work up a bunch before your next show.
