About the Book:
I love to knit gifts for others. I don’t always have the time to make as many things as I would like with other deadlines and obligations. Making garments that need to fit just right can be a tough thing to gift. Home accessories, on the other hand, are a perfect solution to gift my love of knitting with others.
Inside Designer Knit Home, by Erin Black, you will find 24 coordinated knit patterns to choose from. Super cute blankets and pillows are abundant in this book but you will also find baskets, wall hangings, socks and morel. Erin designed a great cocoon blanket pattern that really caught my eye.
Erin’s cocoon blanket is designed using two colors, gray and white, but really makes a statement in the ways that you can use it. As stated in the title of this project you can use it as a blanket, but with the placement of buttons on the side you can also turn it into a cocoon or a wrap of sorts. I really love that you can use it multiple ways, I really think that this would be perfect for your home and even for when you travel.
Another pattern that caught my attention, because it was different from anything I have seen before, is her Herringbone Throw Blanket. The way that Erin plays with the simple black and white colors in this pattern to develop a great texture draws me in to try to figure it out.
Overall I like how she stayed with a simple color pallet throughout the book, making it easier to picture it with your home colors. These don’t have to be projects that you just make for yourself. Don’t forget wedding gifts, house warming gifts and even graduation gifts and you thumb through the book.
