Also known as middle or back bar. Horizontal strand located under the top 2 loops, created by the yarn over when making the hdc. When working in turned rows the third bar is on the front side of the fabric facing you.
Chain at the beginning of a row that will match the height of the main stitches in the row. For example, rows of dc will usually start with a ch 3.
This is the back of the fabric or inside of your project.

Techniques
Also known as a Magic Loop;
1. Start your adjustable ring exactly as you start a slip knot by pulling 6 to 8 inches of yarn from the yarn skein.
2. The working end of yarn comes from the skein, and the tail end of yarn is other side.
3. Loop the tail end of the yarn under the working end to form a loop.
4. Pick up loop and pinch working end, moving it through the loop.
5. Place new loop on hook.
6. Chain 1 to lock in ring.
7. Once finished crocheting around the ring, pull tail end to close ring.
Also known as an Adjustable Ring, see definition above
Also known as a Crab Stitch; working from left to right, insert hook from front to back in next stitch to the right, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook.
Tunisian

Insert hook from front to back between the front and back vertical bars of the next stitch (under horizontal bars), yarn over and pull up a loop.
Move yarn to front of work, insert hook from right to left into front vertical bar of next st, yarn over from front and pull up a loop.
Insert hook from right to left into back vertical bar of next stitch on the wrong side (or back of work), yarn over and pull up a loop. This pushes the return pass to the front of the work creating a purl-like look.
Yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook, *yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * to end of row.
