– Ashley Winston, Home and Heist

The pattern releases in sections. Each release unlocks the next clue. You follow along, make the mystery, and discover the finished object when you’re done. Total mystery. Total fun.

Marly Bird

A word from Marly

Hi, I’m Marly! 👋

I’ve been designing knit and crochet patterns since 2007, and I’m one of the few designers who teaches both crafts. That’s what BiCrafty is all about at MarlyBird.com.

I created the Greenbrier Knit Shawl at the skill level I felt the characters would truly appreciate and enjoy. Honoring the love of knitting that Ashley and Jethro share in the story was so important to me. And I love that Penny asked me to be part of this book. Cletus and Jenn are some of my absolute favorite characters, and being woven into their world is something I’ll treasure.

I created Marly Bird House as the place I’d want as a crafter to have everything I need to be a successful knitter or crocheter. It’s where a pattern becomes more than just instructions. Inside you’ll find written instructions, video tutorials, charts, stitch diagrams, and all the extras that make a pattern truly work for you.

Questions, answered

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ When do I get access?

You’ll get access to your Marly Bird House library immediately after purchase. However, the pattern is delivered in six timed modules that unlock on specific dates. Each module is locked until its release date, then stays open for you to access anytime. The modules unlock on: October 27, October 30, November 3, November 6, November 10, and November 13. You cannot skip ahead, but you’ll never lose access to what has already unlocked.

▶ Can I start late?

Yes! You can join anytime. Sections unlock on their release dates, so if you join on November 10, all five prior sections are already available for you. You make the mystery at your own pace.

▶ What skill level do I need?

Intermediate knitting or crochet. You need to know your basic stitches and feel comfortable reading a pattern. This isn’t a beginner project, but if you have some experience, you’re ready for the mystery.

▶ Can I see what it looks like finished?

Nope – that’s the whole point of the mystery! You won’t know what the shawl looks like until you’re done. It’s all part of the fun. Trust Marly. Trust Penny. Trust the pattern. 🔍

▶ Can I make both versions (knit and crochet)?

Absolutely! You’ll have access to both the knit and crochet patterns once you join. You can make one now and the other later, or tackle both at once if you’re feeling ambitious.

▶ Will this be available forever?

Yes. Once you purchase the make-along, you have unlimited access to all the patterns, videos, and materials inside your Marly Bird House. Make them now. Make them next year. Make them whenever you want.

▶ How do I share my finished shawl?

Tag your project with #greenbriarshawl and #briarhollow and I’ll be looking for your gorgeous makes! Can’t wait to see what you create. 🧶

▶ I didn’t get an email after I purchased. Who do I contact?

Don’t worry – a couple of things could be happening. There may have been a typo in the email address entered at checkout, which can delay or prevent delivery. It’s also possible that if you previously unsubscribed from Marly Bird emails, our system is unable to send you a confirmation email.

Either way, we can take care of it! Please reach out to us at contact@marlybird.com and we’ll get your access sorted out right away.
