Inside the Book:
When you open the cover of the book your eyes are given a treat! Inside the front cover they have put a photo of a collection of the projects in the book. They look so beautiful and squishy that I want one of each of them! Working my way through the book I was NOT disappointed in the projects that May, the author, had included.
The premise behind the book is that you can start with small projects to learn how to work the stitch pattern and what a yarn will work up like. Once you have that information you can move on to larger projects that use the same things. At the start of the book you will find some smaller project. Included at the start of the book you will find hats, pillows, fingerless mitts and boot cuffs. Working through the book the project sizes increase as well as some of the textures and complication of patterns.
Each of these projects really uses the yarn to make a beautiful piece. May uses dynamic open work in her patterns and really plays with the yarn weight to create stunning pieces. My favorite of the book is the Striped Jacket. When I first saw this I started to image which colors of Chic Sheep I would pick up to make my own version! Within the book you will find a variety of patterns for each season of the year. There are some jackets and also some vests and light tops. With so many options you might have a hard time picking which one to start with.

I love your patterns
I have this book and I need help! I love that black poncho but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to put it together! The pattern is simple and says work back and forth and make a huge rectangle and then all it says is fold in half and sew 11in down from the fold? How does a rectangle turn into a poncho? I need a picture or chart or something, any help would be appreciated!
Can you figure out the black poncho? I love this one but I can’t tell from the photos or the instructions, how do you crochet basically a rectangle and then fold it in half to make a poncho? If you could explain this I really want to make it but I have no idea how it should be put together!
