🧺 Past Marly Bird Make-Alongs = Plenty of Leftover Yarn!

If you’ve been part of the Marly Bird community for a while, chances are you’ve joined one (or more!) of our exciting make-alongs. From Game Day Mystery Make-Alongs, to Turkey Trot, to Christmas in July Sleigh the Holidays, to our fun seasonal events like the Tournament of Stitches—we’ve made it all together!

And if you’re like most makers, those projects probably left you with a little (or a lot!) of leftover yarn tucked away in your stash. Instead of letting those skeins sit in the basket or bin, why not put them to work?

The This or That Make-Along 2025 is designed to be stash-friendly. With patterns that shine using 2 or more colors of worsted (or sport) weight yarn, you can mix and match those leftovers from past events into something brand new.

✨ Time to pull out that extra yarn and transform it into a Pixel Pop Knit Hat or a Flicker and Flash Crochet Hat. You’ll clear out space in your stash and end up with a cozy accessory you’ll be proud to wear!

  1. Barbara LeBlanc says:

    Marly,

Just to clarify what specific techniques are used in each pattern?

Are they both using Mosaic knit & crochet? It looks to me that the knit hat is mosaic slip stitch and the crochet hat is either Mosaic Crochet or spike stitch DC.
    ???????

    • Lori says:

Will the hat be bulky if you use worsted weight, I’m not sure if I have enough in my stash in the sport weight, but I don’t want it to be too bulky

      • Marly Bird says:

Yes, if you are making the crochet hat and using the numbers for the sport weight, you are likely to not achieve gauge and it will not fit.

  2. Lori says:

I purchased the crochet pdf and the bonus for a total of $15 yesterday. I haven’t been able to access the patterns to be able to print them off. Very frustrating, spent over $22 Canadian for it…is there anyway you can help me please. I would love to try the patterns.
