Hi all!

This past episode was so fun, talking about The Art of Seamless Knitting with Simona Merchant-Dest and Faina Goberstein!

These ladies are such sweet friends of mine, and I was so excited to talk to them about their new collaboration.  So many fun designs that you have the opportunity to tweak just a little bit here and there to make the pattern be something that fits you, which is one of my favorite things about their book.

Simona and Faina have such distinct and amazing styling and designs, I am so excited to share their amazing book with you, my wonderful listeners!

Make it yours! I loved listening this evening and looked at the pictures on revelry as I listened. There were lots of great details and I love the ideas of customizing patterns like this.

  2. Linda Rogers says:

Make it yours……this is what my knitting needs! I want to have tools to know how to make my visions come alive. Ioften you love a certain sweater, but want to have it for a summer sweater with open neck & short sleeve while keeping the center design. I don’t want to chance what I think I should do & waste time & expensive yarn so often i don’t have the confidence to try

Hi Marley! I just listened to the “The Art of Seamless Knitting” episode. I love how you got Simona and Faina to share their cultural backgrounds and they design approaches. I always adjust patterns to make whatever I’m knitting “mine”, thus I appreciate it when designers help us customize with tips and suggestions. Thanks for having the interview with Simona and Faina!

  4. Pat says:

Hi Marly – Glad you’re back – Good luck in your new home! Thanks for the very interesting interview & for the encouragement to “Make it yours.”

Yes, you’ve had some pretty exciting changes. Hope for you that the things you need ‘back on track’ will happen for you soon. Love the wonderful designs in this book, the knee-high socks are SO ELEGANT and that purple Cardigan is calling my name. I can’t wait to take the advice to ‘Make it Yours’.

  6. Vicki says:

Good luck in your home! So pleased to have you back! Absolutely adore the look of Simona and Faina’s book, particuarly love how you can ‘make it yours’!

  7. Sharon P says:

It’s easy to make it yours in knitting – one small pattern modification is all you need – thanks for all your hard work Marly and the great interviews

  8. Debbie from Australia says:

I’ve had this book in my wish list but I never realized though that the book had a how to ‘make it yours’ with the patterns too.
    Thanks for your podcasts Marly.

  9. Jackie Sas says:

The interview was very informative. Sounds like my kind of book, many children’s sweaters knit but none for me. The ideas and tips in this book would give me the confidence to knit a one of a kind sweater for me. A make it yours sweater.

  10. Janeen says:

I have been curious how to turn a sweater patterns into knitting in the round. Listening to your podcast this book sounds like it has lots of instructions for knitting techniques. To” make it yours”, I love the patterns also. Thanks

  11. Andie says:

I loved the podcast as always, hearing about Simona and Faina’s story and how they support “making it yours” in knitting was really inspirational. I’m not a very advanced knitter and have been too timid to try to alter designs at all, so this book would certainly be useful! Andie
