About Allison of Crafty Is Cool:

Allison Hoffman started her company craftyiscool.com in 2007 when she wanted to crochet toys for her kids.

She started designing her own amigurumi patterns and opened her Etsy shop, which developed into a full-time job. She creates designs based on pop culture and nostalgia, and has written two books, AmiguruME: Make Cute Crochet People, and AmiguruME Pets. She has just begun writing her third book.

Her work has appeared on The Martha Stewart Show, CONAN, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Today Show, and in several print publications.

She frequently publishes free patterns and tutorials on her website, craftyiscool.com, where you can find links to her shop, YouTube channel, and social media accounts.

Crafty is cool, most definitely! I wonder how cool it is compared to Youtube? (And that probably depends on what generation you ask!)

Crafty Is Cool, I love Amigurumi. I jokingly call it yarn sculpting. My most recent amigurumi creation is Sonic the Hedgehog He measured 14″. He is the largest scale Amigurumi project I have completed. The boy I made it for loved it. 😀 -Crystal Bz

Crafty is Cool and Allison’s creations are quite amazing! Her Spring Fairy House is so charming, I might have to learn crochet.
Thanks, Marly, for featuring another new artist.

I’m so disappointed that I didn’t get to hear this podcast. It only has the first 10 minutes on iTunes. I was really looking forward to listening to Allison’s story. I did check out the Crafty is Cool page though to see some of her work.

I checked out the Crafty Is Cool website. I love the Easter basket babies and rainbow of yarn wall. Is it mostly of similar weight and fiber type? I tried twice to get the full podcast to play, but could only hear a few minutes.
