DIY Kids Snow-day Crochet Mittens with Video Tutorial
Mittens are great for the cold weather. By having all of your fingers together in one pocket it helps them to stay warmer, so they say. Starting with a simple mitten pattern is a great idea for beginners so that they can try their hand at a new project. This pattern is great for kids ages 2-8 and can be worked in any color that they like. I have broken this tutorial down into four parts, just like a crochet-along, so that you can work through each section with confidence.

About the Crochet Mitten Pattern:
This pattern was designed for kits 2-8 in mind. Starting off with the cuff of the mitten and working towards the fingers allows you to try the project on as you go to get the right fit.
Looking at the cuff of the pattern you will see that it look like a knit ribbing, but it isn’t. Worked with single crochet stitches and slip stitches you can make it look like a knit rib. Because there are a few parts to this mitten I have broken it down into four parts. Just as we do in a crochet-along we will work through each section before moving on to the next. This will make it more manageable for beginners and you can work both mittens at the same time before moving on.
