2023 Knitting Clue #4
Bead Every Row in All Over Staggered Pattern
String 93, size 6/0 seed beads onto the yarn with big eye beading needle.
Cast on 18 sts using the long tail cast-on. Be sure to leave a long tail for seaming.
Set-Up row: Purl
Row 1 (WS): K2, *SB, k2; repeat from * to last 2 sts, SB, k2. — 8 beads
Row 2 (RS): P1, *SB, p2; repeat from * to last st, SB, p1. — 9 beads
Repeat rows 1-2 four times more, row 1 once more — 11 rows of beads
Next row (RS): Purl
Bind off.
FINISHING
Fold the fabric in half like a taco so the side edges meet.
Objective is to sew the beaded knit fabric wrapper around the 25mm wood bead.
Using one of the tails and the chenille needle, seam the edges together on the right side.
Once the edges are joined, a tube is formed.
Push the wood bead into the tube with the holes of the bead facing out the cast-on edge and the bind off edge.
Use the tail at each end and cinch the stitches like a drawstring around the wooden bead at each hole. Secure the tail firmly.
The beaded knit fabric wrapper is now wrapped around the wood bead, creating a beaded knit bead with beads staggered on every row.
