NETFLIX AND CHILL COWL PLAY 5 PATTERN
Row 1: (RS) Join yarn with sl st to corner of Play 3 on row end edge, ch 3 (counts as dc), evenly place 70 dc along long edge, turn- 71 dc.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 1, skip next st, sc in next 3 st; repeat across to last 2 sts, ch 1, skip next st, sc in last st, turn.
Rows 3-4: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, insert hook into first ch-1 sp (3 rows below), yo and pull up a long loop, yo and draw through 2 loops on hook (sc spike made), skip next sc (under sc spike), *sc in next sc, sc spike in next ch-1 sp 3 rows below, skip next sc, sc in next sc, sc spike in previous ch-1 sp, skip next sc; repeat from * across to last 4 sc, sc in next sc, sc spike in next ch-1 sp 3 rows below, skip next sc, sc in last 2 sc, turn.

Blocking
Pin the cowl to the schematic size, spray with water and allow to dry.
Seaming
Using schematic as a guide, whip stitch Play 5 to Play 4 edge with tapestry needle.
Edging
Join yarn to RS edge of cowl, ch 1, sc in a multiple of 5 around cowl, sl st to first sc.
If not doing the optional edging, fasten off and weave in ends.
Optional Edging
Round 1 (RS): Do not turn, ch 1, sc in same st as join, *ch 5, skip 4 sc, sc in next sc; repeat from * around to last 4 sc, ch 5, sl st to first sc, do not turn.
Round 2: Ch 1, sc to first sc, *ch 5, sc in next sc; repeat from * around, ch 5, sl st to first sc, do not turn.
Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *sc (around ch-5 sp 1 row below) in ch-5 sp 2 rows below (sc spike made), (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next sc (shell made); repeat from * around to last ch-5 sp, sc spike in last ch-2 sp 2 rows below, (2 dc, ch 1, dc) in first sc, sl st to top of beginning ch, sl st to next sc, do not turn.
