Beginner Crochet Blanket Inspiration
Several years ago I hosted a crochet-along for a stitch sampler blanket and one of the squares was the Blooming Granny Square. In the CAL we did small squares to test out our gauge for each of the stitch patterns.
One of my contractors loved the look of the small blooming granny square so she made several, seamed them together then added the same border we used for the stitch sampler blanket to her new blanket and voila! The minute I saw it I knew I needed to purchase the sample and publish it as a pattern for everyone to enjoy.

Customizing Your Blanket
This blanket is designed using Red Heart Soft, making it idea to give as a baby gift. Your flowers can be made in as many colors as you like. This blanket shows four different colors but you could do them all the same, or add more colors. Think about the color placement of the flowers to make something that you like.
Best of all you can add more squares, or even take some away, to customize the size of the finished blanket. Keep adding squares and you could have a super cute blanket for a toddler bed or even a big girl bed! Using fewer squares would give you a great stroller blanket as well.
Babies and kids will love the texture of the flowers and using multiple colors will keep them interested as well!
