Mariposa Chic Knit Shawl

The Mariposa Chic Knit Shawl is a free knit shawl pattern by Marly Bird. This stunning shawl can be wrapped around your shoulders or worn like a bandana around your neck. Either way it is an amazing accessory.

Written into 4 easy sections, you can make this shawl is in no time! And did I mention that it is a free knit pattern?

Does this shawl look familiar to you? That could be because this is my updated version of the 2018 Tournament of Stitches Knit Shawl (TOS) Be Quiet I’m Knitting. I loved the original TOS shawl and will publish an ad free pdf of that pattern soon.

This shawl was made by hundreds of knitters but no two shawls looked alike. When I saw the shawl by VaNella on Ravelry I knew I wanted a shawl using the exact same colors. Although the sequence of colors are not the same as this one I did use the same colors (except for the little bit of Vineyard). You can choose to follow the same color sequence as on this shawl or go your own route. The good news is that it really doesn’t matter, this shawl will look amazing.

NOTES

Always slip as if to knit for the shawl. As the shawl becomes larger and you want to have more room on your needles, transfer to longer needles.

I recommend adding a lifeline to your project at the pattern changes. Just to make sure you have a point to rip back to if something goes wrong.

COLOR SEQUENCE

Truthfully, this is the order we used these colors but you can and should follow whatever feels right to you and change colors when you want.
