sl 1 wyif: slip 1 stitch as if to purl with yarn in front of the needle.

Gauge: 16 sts = 4″ for this part of the project
What you are about to make is something you have NEVER DONE BEFORE as I have been perfecting this item for the past several months to make it exactly right. Seriously, take your time and just do what I tell you to do.
On the smaller straight needles, one strand of yarn and use the Italian Cast-on [yes, you MUST use this cast on for this part to look correct…watch the video and take your time]. Cast on 80 sts
–Alternative Option and Designer Note: I’ve made this part of the project with two strands held together instead of just one strand and I really -really- love the look of the double stranded. If you want to give that a try you will still want to get the same gauge as with one strand!
Rows 1-4: [sl 1 wyif, k1] 40 times
