About Author Megan Kreiner:
Inspired to design toys my children would enjoy, I started designing patterns in 2012 under the brand names “MK Crochet” and “MK Knits”. As of 2017, I have designed over 200 toys in both knit and crochet for various magazines, kits, and books. My latest book, “Construction Vehicles to Crochet” features a dozen chunky construction vehicle designs with fun details like tipping dumpers, working buckets and spinning platforms. When I’m not designing crochet and knitted toys on the side, I work full time as an animator at DreamWorks Animation in Glendale, CA.

Really enjoyed this podcast!! I hope in the future she can release the dragon patterns she spoke about!
I got to watch live!! We’re having a snow/ice day here in Central Texas. The kids in my second grade class love the dragon books. It was so interesting to hear how you design and the work you do to produce the animation for the dragon movies and the other ones you’ve worked on.
I haven’t seen how to Train a Dragon but my grand-babies LOVE that movie!
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Megan’s job on How to Train A DRAGON. I am excited to hopefully win the ornament book. I love to make ornaments for Christmas gifts each year.
I loved this podcast! The toys that you make are so detailed and cute. Well, I giggled that you work for Dreamworks, but Disney contacted you to design their characters! My kids are all fans of How to Train Your Dragon, and they will be excited to hear that there is a third movie in the works.
I enjoyed watching and I can see Dragons in my near future!!!!
What a pleasure it was to learn about Megan and see her fun crochet designs. It was also cool to learn that she worked for Dreamworks Animation on several movies including Trolls and How to Train Your Dragon 1-3!
Enjoyed the podcast. I’m really Dragon today..tomorrow will be better 😉
Thanks for having Megan on the podcast. Can’t wait to see the books but also the new train your dragon movie. Good luck to her in both fields.
Loved this show got to watch it live today!!! I’m a grandma of at 17 month old girl and plan to purchase How to Train Your Dragon movie to share with her. I’m sure she will love some of the cute things I can make for her from one of Megan’s books
Afternoon,
This was the first time I listened to a live podcast. I found Megan and her career VERY interesting. I would enjoy ANY of her books as I’m looking to expand things I attempt to crochet. A dragon would be cool for my new great nephew.
Megan’s word was dragon. I really liked her tips on construction. I had never knew about the foam.
Today was the first time I was able to watch one of the podcasts and thrilled to learn more about Megan and her works in progress. Dragons are my fave and hope she will be able to publish a pattern for Toothless soon!

Great show, as always, Marly! Megan Kreiner is such an interesting designer. How to train your “dragon” is one of our favorites!
Can’t wait to check out the construction toys in more detail…and to see what she puts in her Dragon book…that podcast was so informative i can’t wait to sit bk and relax and watch the next live podcast Marly..
I want to win!!
I loved this podcast with Megan. I’ve always wanted my own pet dragon, especially one like Toothless.
I really like the new format of the podcast. It’s so nice to see the guest live! Too bad Megan couldn’t have shown us her crocheted dragon, that would have been fun. Learned something new as well, didn’t know about purse foam for stuffing and shaping. Such an good innovation. Stay warm everyone.
I love the idea of using the purse stabilizer stuff for amigurumi! I will definitely look into it! I’ve been seeing dragon patterns lately and the stabilizer purse stuff would come very in handy for the wings! I crochet tightly by nature so amigurumi is my jam!
I would really love to have that toothless dragon pattern to crochet. I love toothless in fact our next house cat is going to be a pure black cat with bright yellow eyes.
Really love the new format. I never made any toys in knitting(my first love) or crocheting(my new love). But I do “dragon” my knitting and crocheting with me everywhere. 🙂 Looked at Megan’s books and they fabulous!!
Really enjoyed listening to this show live. Was interesting listening to how Megan got started writing books. Hope she releases th dragon pattern soon.

dragon items
Great to hear about the creative process. Megan’s book is very interesting since I am in the process of making a “Roadway Throw” (redheard pattern LW3587) and her new book would allow me to create some “Dragon items” for the Throw. I will have to give it a close look.
I would love to crochet all the dragons from How to Train Your Dragon!
Never done any dragons before but would love to add to my skill set, loved the show, my 1st ever time watching, such useful info shared. Thank you

My adult children are big fans of dreamworks and dragon films in particular. It was great to hear Megan’s story. My daughter does animation alas not for pay. A crocheted dragon would make a great addition to her apartment.

Another great podcast and really enjoyed hearing Megan’s background. Since our apartment does not allow dragons I can’t wait to make one for the grandsons!
I enjoyed the podcast with Megan and how she traded her dragon for a Gobber riding a dragon, how cool was that?
