Stitches United Adventures with Franklin Habit
Stitches United Adventures with Franklin Habit was the topic for this Tuesday on the Yarn Thing podcast with Marly Bird.
Stitches United is just a couple of weeks away (April 27-30), hurry to make sure you sign up for classes, and the presentation ‘Follow Your Bunny’ with Franklin Habit.
Franklin Habit can be followed through his website: www.FranklinHabit.com, but he’s most active in Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. He writes monthly illustrated column for the Lion Brand notebook, twice monthly articles about creativity Fridays with Franklin with Makers Mercantile/Skacel Yarns, AND monthly book reviews for Mason Dixon.
Here is the links to his previous visits to Yarn Thing with Marly Bird in 2013, and 2015, last summer when he shared his new adult coloring book for knitters ‘I Dream of Yarn‘, which is now in its second printing.
If you missed seeing this live, check out Marly’s Facebook page, or listen to the archived audio: https://www.blogtalkradio.com/yarnthing/2017/04/11/stitches-united-adventures-with-franklin-habit
Love the show and listening to your discussion with Franklin! I had been sitting here going through knitted patterns for a bowtie for my grandson! My son loves them and now my grand wants one also!
Loved the show! I am sure those making the bow tie will have lots of fun with Franklin. I love how you both encourage us that we can do what we don’t think we can. <3 Thank you both! ๐
Loved the show today. I have always loved Franklin’s humor and drawings. My grandson would look so cute in a bowtie. I need to whip one up before Easter! Someday I hope to get to a Stitches Event.
Making a bow tie sounds very interesting
Sad I missed the FB live with Franklin, was getting my taxes done. I do think of Franklin when I think of bow ties and when I think of bow ties I think of Franklin. Someday would love to attend one of his knitting classes…took both of his Craftsy classes already. Would really enjoy a pattern from Franklin AND book of Laura’s โค๏ธ
The bowtie class sounds really neat! My son would really appreciate it- he’s huge into bow ties. Got him a new one today, in fact. Thanks for the interview!
Bow ties!! And a class- what fun! Love thus- I want to take the class- โค
I would love to learn to make a bowtie because, as the good Doctor (and Franklin) have proven – bowties are cool!
Stitches and bunnies and a bow tie – oh my! Thanks for another great show.
I live in NH which is just a hop, skip and a jump from Hartford, CT. I am going to see if there is still room in Franklin’s bow tie class….wish me luck!
What a fun episode. I would love to be able to take a class with Franklin and his bow tie class sounds like it would be great!
The bow tie class will undoubtedly be brilliant, Franklin! You are such an inspiration to so many creative lives!
Your bow tie class sounds like a winner. As always, I enjoyed the interview Marly.
I’m really hoping to get to Hartford, CT this year. I’ve always wanted to meet Franklin Habit. I would love to be able to take his bow tie class. Another great podcast!!!!
Love listening to you both. I’m new to Franklin but he sounds like an inspiring teacher. The Bow tie class sounds like a blast!
I have helped a couple of friends when they started sewing. A bow tie would be an excellent starter project and a fun changeup from the usual pillowcase. Great idea!
I like wearing ties, but have never worn a bow tie. It’d be great to knit a fun colorful one
I loved the podcast today! I had the pleasure of seeing Franklin’s Five Women, Five Shawls talk at Stitches Midwest 2 years ago and taking his Photographing your fibers class last year. I considered taking his Bowtie class, but decided to take the steeking class.
I have never seen my husband in a bow tie but would like to. And I have a new grandson and my daughter just sent me a photo of him last wee wearing a little shirt with a bow tie. It melted my heart. I bet Franklin’s class would be so much fun to take.
I finally listened to Marly and Franklin and I have a new appreciation for bow ties.
My daughter’s boyfriend wears bow ties all the time. I would love to take a class from Franklin!
Love this interview with Franklin. I was lucky enough to see the “Follow your Bunny” talk at Stitches West. If you have any chance to listen to him or take a class with him, do it! I’m so excited to hear that the Halos-of-Hope-athon we started at Purlescence will be continuing at Wall of Yarn! Now I’m trying to figure out if I can make it out to Illinois for this event. If I possibly can, I’ll probably try to wear a bow tie myself!
Hand sewing a bow tie while Franklin is teaching sounds like a fun day. Franklin is so talented!!
I love the encouragement that both Marly and Franklin give to everyone when they teach classes. The bowtie class sounds like a blast. Thanks for the great podcast.
Midwest is calling my name. A day of learning with Franklin sounds divine: hand sewing, humor, and happiness! And a bowtie at the end of the day.
Marly – another great podcast.
Bowties are cool! (And so are fezzes ๐
I would love to make a bowtie for my best friend!
Franklin Habit is so charming and inspiring plus he looks great in a bowtie. Thanks for another great podcast.
I’m yet to make peace with hand sewing, so this bow tie class sounds ideal. I will be sure to sign up if it is ever released as an online class as I’m in Australia
A bow tie to learn so many sewing techniques; who knew?! Not me obviously…. Fun listen. =)
I loved listening to Franklin on the podcast today. I wish I had more space and time to take his bowtie class! Can’t wait for Stitches United next week! Thank you Marly. I’m taking one of your classes. See you then.
Franklin can rock the bow tie, but his writing is most thoughtful and inspiring.
Bow ties are so much fun, and seem like the perfect intro to hand sewing. I would love to take Franklin’s class, but unfortunately am not able to make it to Stitches United.
I would love to make a bow tie as practice for hand sewing l. A small but fun item.
Would love to see Franklin in person someday. Great podcast. I will have to tackle making a bowtie for fun and maybe taking a class of Franklin’s or of Marly’s.
I actually know someone who wears a Bowtie!! I would love to get more insight into the wonderful mind of Franklin ๐
Multi-crafting, bow ties, Marly and Franklin…awesome combination! Love you, too, Social Medusa!
Love your interview. I especially love how you participate in so many different media. The bow tie class sounds fabulous. Thank you for encouraging us.
I love the idea of a bowtie class!
