About Stitches Events:
Benjamin Levisay is a second-generation partner in this 29-year-old company originally started by his uncle, Alexis Xenakis, his father, David Xenakis, and their partner Elaine Rowley. Benjamin has been a part of the fiber industry since his family opened a yarn shop in Sioux Falls, SD when he was a small boy, an enterprise that later evolved into XRX.
After a career in the software industry, Benjamin rejoined the company nine years ago as CEO and Director of Marketing & Sales. He is more commonly known as one of the hosts of STITCHES. It is his intention to carry on the legacy of passion and commitment that characterized his family’s contributions to the fiber world.
This year Stitches Events has started a new event, Stitches SoCal, that will be launching in November. Hope you can join us at the event.

I would so love to go but just not in the cards to make it to SoCal. I really want to take your planned pooling class and so disappointed you won’t be teaching it at Stitches West.
I cannot make it to SoCal, but I’m planning on making it to Stitches Midwest!! Hope Marly is doing a class again, I’d really love to take it ❤️
SoCal
I wish SoCal would come to Houston Texas! I enjoyed the podcast and would love to go to an event to meet people who love doing the same thing, wow.
I taught myself to knit and crochet. And this is the first time I heard of So Cal. I wish there was something similar in Canada.
Right now I’m wishing for the dreamy weather of SoCal, but attending an event like Stitches and taking a class or two is on my bucket list.
I would really love to go to SoCal. Don’t know if it in the cards for me but fingers crossed.
Very interesting to learn about stitches SoCal. Great interview Marly!
I will be at SOCAL, taking a class with Myra Wood and working at the El Segundo Slipt Stitchers Knitting Guild booth. See you all there.❤️
Although I am close to SOCAL I won’t be able to go.
I want to win. I love to knit. I have been knitting for over 50 years.
I’m to far for SoCal, but everyone have fun. Do you every come to Texas?
Thanks for a chance to win. SoCal!
I would love to make it to SoCal to enjoy Stitches and the weather! Maybe sometime soon! Great podcast. I enjoyed the interview. Thanks!
I would like to visit SoCal someday, but until then maybe I can be content with one of those books that were described instead.
SoCal Stitches is on my calendar. So much fun.
I have never been to any event like SoCal and found it an interesting interview
Loved this interview with Benjamin and hearing the history of Stitches Events. I just attended Midwest in August and had a great time…it was my first Stitches and I hope to attend more in the future…maybe one day SO CAL! The Market Place, the Fashion Show, the Pajama Party, and my class were all GREAT!!!!! IG @mcstitchbystephanie
I wish I could go to Stitches SoCal, however Florida is a long way from SoCal!
Thanks for a great podcast, sad to hear about no more print, but Love your events. I am now an avid machine knitter as well as hand knitter, crocheter, thanks to Stitches midwest and seeing a local Machine knitting guild demonstrating. I postponed my honeymoon by a day to attend. That was 7 years ago and I have attended every stitches Midwest since. I’d love to go to SoCal, but it is a bit too far and I am spoiled with the wonderful Stitches midwest in my backyard every year. Please keep up all that you both do for the industry, as yarn and knitting is what brings me joy in our crazy world=)
This was a great interview. I did not know that stitches was all this. Thx for letting me know. I am in Canada but I have friends who travel in those areas. I will get them to check out some of these events. thx SoCal is the word.
I won’t be able to make it to SoCal, but maybe someday you’d have one in the Northeast for our neck of the woods. 🙂 Would be great to be able to go to one of these.
While I will not be able to go to SoCal, I have been to Stitches Texas and had a great time.
I too would like to go to the SoCal, however it’s not possible this year. Hopefully I’ll be able to go to another closer to Missouri
I was very interested to hear about Stitches SoCal. I think in a year or two I’d like to attend. Thanks for the podcast .
It never rains in Southern California . But it will rain knitting at SOCAL Stitches!
I’m so disappointed that your events weren’t in SoCal 4/5 years ago before I moved to Texas. I would have loved to attend close to home but now I can go to the DFW Stitches. Really loved the interview with Benjamin.
Socal sounds awesome!!! Its onmy bucket list !!!
Listening to your pod cast regarding SoCal has pushed me to signing up for an event I wouldn’t have before. It was refreshing and motivating to hear to just do it!
Never been to SoCal before, perhaps one day.
I am so excited Stitches is coming to SoCal. I’ve never been to a Stitches event and really hope I will be able to attend and take one of Marly’s classes.
My niece used to live in SoCal but doesn’t any more so I don’t have a really good reason to go anymore.
I wish I could come to SoCal! I have never been able to make a Stitches event. I am middle aged, but traveling is very hard for me due to health issues. Have you considered on-line classes or events? I would love to be able to have more interaction with the teacher and students than is available from Craftsy and other vendors. I miss Knitters magazine, and LOVE your books!
I’d count myself lucky to be able to someday attend a Stitches event and SoCal would have to be first on the list!
Stitches events sound like so much fun, and I’m sure SoCal will be just the same.
Would love to attend stitches SoCal. Maybe when I’m retired and the children are grown.
Stitches SoCal sounds awesome! I have never been to a Stitches event so this when be a great first one.
I don’t think it’s likely I’ll ever make it to a SoCal event, but I’m hoping to come to the Midwest one soon!
Nice podcast! I learned a lot more about Benjiman than I knew before. Even though I can’t go to the SoCal convention, I would like to hit the Midwest one eventually.
I would love to go to SoCal one day, but sadly distance is an issue. I wish there was something like this in Australia because I would definitely check it out
I have not been to SoCal but I have been to StitchesSouth in Atlanta, GA once and in Nashville, Tn twice.
