Küss Mich Holly Crochet Stocking

MEASUREMENTS

Final Measurements: Stocking is 14” [35.5 cm] in circumference by 21.5” [54.5 cm] in depth.

Gauge: 16 split sc by 14 rounds = 4” [10 cm] x 4” [10 cm]; use any size hook to obtain the gauge. Note: gauge is the pattern stitch of sc in the backloop in the round.

MATERIALS

Yarn: Knit Picks, City Tweed DK(55% Merino Wool/25% Superfine Alpaca/20% Donegal Tweed, 123 yds/112 m, 1.75 oz/50 g, CYCA# 3 light):

Color A: #24979 Jacquard, 1 ball

Color B: #28200 Grove, 1 ball

Color C: #28195 Snowbank, 1 ball

Color D: #24983 Brocade, 1 ball

Color E: #24546 Habanero, 1 ball

Hook: G/4.5mm [US 7]

SPECIAL STITCHES

⭐️ Foundation Single Crochet (fsc):

First fsc: Ch 2, insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook (forming a chain), yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook (forming the single crochet)

Next fsc: Insert hook into base of previous stitch (in the “chain” space), yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook (forming a chain), yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook (forming the next single crochet). Repeat directions for desired amount of sts.

⭐️ Single Crochet 2 Together (sc2tog): *Insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop; repeat from * in next stitch indicated, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook. (1 decrease)

⭐️ Single Crochet 3 Together (sc3tog): *Insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop; repeat from * in next 2 stitches indicated, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook. (2 decreases)

⭐️ Back Loop Only : This is the furthest loop to you of the top 2 loops of the stitch indicated, regardless if you are on the RS or WS.

NOTES

  • Pattern is written in single crochet in the backloop throughout, unless otherwise noted.
  • Stocking is worked from the cuff down the leg, then the foot and toe. Heel is added last.
  • For a seamless join, remove your hook from your last stitch of the round. Thread your hook into the back loop of the first stitch of the round from the back to the front. Place the free loop back on your hook and pull through.
  • Place stitch marker at beginning of each round.
  • Work over all contrasting color yarn, as you would with tapestry crochet, unless otherwise noted.

PATTERN Day 3

TOE SHAPING

Round 1 (RS): Join color E to first st in the backloop, ch 1, sc in the back loop of the same st, sc in backloop of next 4 sc, sc2tog in the back loop of next 2 sc, *sc in backloop of next 5 sc, sc2tog in the back loop of next 2 sc; repeat from * around, join seamlessly to first sc, do not turn—48 sts.

Round 2: Ch 1, *sc in backloop of next 4 sc, sc2tog in the back loop of next 2 sc; repeat from * around, join seamlessly to first sc, do not turn—40 sts.

Round 3: Ch 1, *sc in backloop of next 3 sc, sc2tog in the back loop of next 2 sc; repeat from * around, join seamlessly to first sc, do not turn—32 sts.

Round 4: Ch 1, *sc in backloop of next 2 sc, sc2tog in the back loop of next 2 sc; repeat from * around, join seamlessly to first sc, do not turn—24 sts.

Round 5: Ch 1, *sc in backloop of next sc, sc2tog in the back loop of next 2 sc; repeat from * around, join seamlessly to first sc, do not turn—16 sts.

Round 6: Ch 1, *sc2tog in the back loop of next 2 sc; repeat from * around, join seamlessly to first sc, fasten off with long tail—8 sts.

Weave tail through remaining stitches to close toe.

HEEL

Round 1 (RS): Join color E to center st of the last round of the leg with a sc in the backloop, sc in the backloop of each st of leg to 1 st before crease (where the foot and leg connect), sc3tog over [next st on leg in the backloop, crease (working around the round end), and next st on foot], place marker in sc3tog just made, sc in each st of foot to 1 st before next crease, sc3tog over [next sc of foot, crease, and next st of leg in the back loop], place marker in sc3tog just made, sc in the back loop in each st to beginning, join seamlessly to first st, do not turn.- 52 sts.

Round 2: Ch 1, *sc in the back loop to 1 st before marker, sc3tog in the back loop over next 3 sts, move marker to sc3tog just made; repeat from * once more, sc in the back loop to beginning, joining seamlessly to first st, do not turn. – 48 sts.

Repeat Round 2 (8) times, fasten off- 16 sts.

Turn stocking inside out. Working in both fabrics (foot and leg) at once, join yarn with sl st, and sl st in each st across, fasten off. Turn right side out.

FINISHING

Weave in all ends.

Join color A to any foundation st, sl st in each sl st around. fasten off.
