Ssk (Slip, Slip, Knit): Slip 2 stitches, one at a time, as if to knit. Insert left hand needle into the front of these two stitches and knit them together from this position (1 stitch decreased)
PATTERN STITCHES
Lace Bands Pattern
Worked over an even number of sts.
Rows 1-4 (begin RS): Knit.
Row 5: * K2tog, yo; repeat from * to end.
Row 6: Purl.
Row 7: * Yo, ssk; repeat from * to end.
Row 8: Purl.
Row 9: * K2tog, yo; repeat from * to end.
Row 10: Purl.
Repeat Rows 1-10 for Lace Bands pattern.
Note: To measure your gauge in Lace Bands pattern, cast on 4 extra sts, and keep 2 sts at each edge in Garter st (knitting them on every row).
NOTES
- Directions are for the smallest size; changes for all other sizes are in parentheses. When only one number is given then that number applies to all sizes.
- The sweater is worked in one piece from the top down. The button bands are worked at the same time as the main body.
- Sleeve and Body increases will occur at different rates. There will always be a yarn over on either side of the marked raglan sts; an increase will only result when there is no corresponding decrease (k2tog or ssk) to go with the yarn over.

SHOOP, SHOOP, SHOOP KNIT CARDIGAN DAY 4 & 5
Yes, it is not a typo. The instructions today are for Day 4 and Day 5!
Peplum
This section of the sweater has added stitches to make the bottom half of the pattern bloom our a little from the body. If you don’t want yours to be as large around as written (look at the measurements around the hem on the schematic) you can always adjust the number of increases worked on the next row.
Doing fewer increases will decrease the hem measurement, just make sure you have an even number of stitches between the markers.
Next 2 Rows:
Row 1 (inc row, RS): Sl 1, k4, slm, k1 (1, 0, 2, 3, 1, 0, 3, 0), [k2, M1, k2] 26 (30, 34, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 58) times, k1 (1, 0, 2, 3, 1, 0, 3, 0), slm, k5 (Note: this row counts as Row 1 of Lace Bands pattern) – 142 (162, 180, 194, 216, 232, 250, 276, 300) sts.
*Note: Do not repeat this increase row when you repeat rows 1-10 for the Lace Bands! Follow the Lace Bands pattern as written.
Row 2: Sl 1, k4, slm work Row 2 of Lace Bands pattern to marker, slm, k5.
Work in established Lace Bands pattern and edge bands until piece measures 15½ (15½, 16, 16, 16½, 16½, 18, 18, 18½)” [39.5 (39.5, 40.5, 40.5, 42, 42, 45.5, 45.5, 47) cm] from underarm (or to desired length). End after a Row 4 of Lace Bands pattern.
You are so close! See you for Day 6 when we finish this great sweater!
