Finishing knit and crochet tops isn’t always complete when the last end is woven in. Lacy crochet and knit tops are fun, fashionable and super great for the warm summer months but, that also means that you need to wear something under your top. Joi Mahon aka Designer Joi is a fashion sewing entrepreneur. She has a background and degree in Apparel Design and Production from ISU and has operated her freelance design studio Dress Forms Design Studio, LLC since 1999.

Joi is a McCall’s Licensed Designer, Craftsy instructor, Baby Lock and Mettler Thread Brand Ambassador and National SpokesDesigner, Published Author of 2 Sewing books with a 3^rd  in the works, Creates Custom Clothing Designs for individuals and freelances to companies in the fashion industry along with traveling (pre-covid) around the US to sewing dealerships and events teaching her unique and real life approach to sewing and fitting.

Joi started her own National Sewing Event called Sewing Holiday held each July and holds live classes in her Brick and Mortar Sewing location Designer Joi’s Sewing Factory. Aside from Sewing Joi loves cooking and gardening and is working on her Master Gardener Certification as well as exploring the opportunity of writing a cooking/gardening cook book.

Joi is married to her hubby of 21 years and has a 9 and 16 year kiddos and 2 fur babies.
