When and Where is Stitches West:
Just incase there are some of you that don’t know about the event Stitches West will be held the weekend of February 22-25th. The event is hosted at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara CA.
Marly Bird Classes:
This year I will be teaching FIVE classes during the event. I hope that if you are coming you will think about joining one of my classes! Click on the links below to see what each class is about in more detail.
- Dual Cables
- Interwoven Crochet
- Four Play: How to Master DPN’s
- Single Crochet Entrelac
- Miter Me This, Miter Me That
Stitches West Surprises:
PJ Party- Okay so this one really isn’t a surprise if you have ever gone to a Stitches event or heard me talk about them. I wanted to still call out that we are going to have the PJ Part at Stitches West and I will be bringing along some great prizes from Red Heart. Even some brand new yarns that you might only be able to get online (hint: my very own Chic Sheep is one of them)!
Yarn Booth– Chic Sheep will make an appearance in my very own YARN BOOTH! I will be brining all 24 colors to Stitches West so that you can get a first hand look at them. Not only will you be able to feel the yarn but you will be able to mix and match colors. Best of all I am having two Chic Sheep patterns in the fashion show, one is brand new and will be released right before the event!
Team Members– Although having my own YARN BOOTH is a dream come true with my very OWN yarn line, I will admit that I am still pretty excited that the whole Marly Bird team will meet in person! Katelyn and I have met in person in Pittsburg last year for their yarn event. This year not only will I get to see Katelyn again but we will get to meet up with Brittani-Pearl in the flesh!!! We are so excited to get to spend some time together as a team and also to spend some time meeting with you.
NOTE: Brittani-Pearl will be spending most of her time in the Erin Lane Bags booth. Don’t worry this is right across from the Marly Bird Studio Experience booth.
Win Class Yarn Supplies:
Not only is Red Heart providing the yarn needed for each of my classes they are also offering a chance for FIVE of you to win the yarn for a class of your choosing.
To be able to win you will need to check out the five classes that I am teaching at Stitches West by using the links above. After you have selected your favorite class you will need to use the rafflecopter below to enter.
The only required response is your email address (which we will use to contact you) and a blog comment on which class yarn supplies you would like to win. We will randomly select FIVE of you to win. If more than one of you pick the same class as winners don’t worry we will still send you the yarn for that class.
Fine Print: Giveaway is open to US and Canada addresses only. Please only one entry per person. Giveaway runs until February 16, 2018 at midnight MST. Winners will be announced on Monday February 19, 2018. Winners will have 72 hours (until 2/22/18) to send us their mailing address and phone number to [email protected] or they will forfeit their winnings.
Iโm so excited to be coming to Stitches West. Wanted to take Miter Me This, Miter Me That but Angie has to work Sunday so weโre leaving on Saturday. But Iโm taking Interwoven Crochet with you. Any yarn I win would be awesome!!
This sounds like so much fun! I can’t attend this one, but hopefully the next one I can combine a familial visit with it ๐
I love cables, but learning Interwoven Crochet would hook me
Iโm so sad I wonโt be able to go to Stitches West. I would love to take your interwoven class.
Boy, oh boy, would I love to take an in-person class from you Marly! Alas I cannot fly to CA……..so I stick with your very fun videos. If I was there, I would take the Single Crochet Entrelac class. Iโve been crocheting longer than youโve been alive, but have never given it a go. I think itโs time.
I’m excited to be going to my very first show of any kind for crochet/yarn/knitting! I’m thinking about the single-crochet entrelac class. Good luck everyone!
This is the first year Iโve heard of Stitches West! Itโs now on my bucket list!! Taking a class with you would be amazing! This year the Miter Me This, Miter Me That class sounds awesome!!
I am super new to knitting. The DPN class sounds like something I should take so I can make hats!
Dual cables or actually any of your classes. I dont know how to do any of them so it would be excitting to learn.
I would love the dpn class! They are a mystery to me!
The single crochet enteric (sp) is something Iโve wanted to do.
I would go to your dual cable classes if I was able! I’m so jealous! Wish I could meet you in person, you are such a fun and kind person!
Wish I could attend. If I could I would take the interwoven crochet class!
Would love to win the yarn for the dual cables class. I canโt wait for Stitches West in my own town of Santa Clara!
I would love to take the Interwoven Crochet class with you, but alas, it will only be in my dreams. But I tthink it would be a fantabulous idea if you would approach Red Heart about sponsoring a Cro-Knit Cruise. Marly and the Minion’s cruising on the high seas. AWESOME!!
Miter me this, miter me that. Oh to love Stitches West
Thank you Marly Bird and Red Heart.
I’ll be taking my third class with Marly at Stitches West- soooo excited check out Chic Sheep in person! Dual Cables for me
If I could make it I would definitely be taking the Interwoven Crochet. I love learning new patterns.
If I could attend I would love to take Four Play: How to Master DPN’s with Marly Bird so I could make socks. Any yarn would be great but Marly’s Chic Sheep would be perfect.
Is there a Stitches East or South East?
I am interested in Four Play, how to master DPNs
Miter me this Miter me that:)
Dual cables
I would love to Learn How to Master DPN’s. I have used 2 circulars and have just starting using magic loop for mittens and decreases on hats.
I wish I could go! I would love the class Miter Me This,Miter Me That.
Your interwoven crochet class looks amazing!
I would love to learn How to Master DPN’s. I am excited to start knitting socks!
Dual Cables classes!
Both the crochet classes look fantastic, but I think Interwoven Crochet wins out for me. Still hoping to at least get down to CT in March to look on the floor even though I couldnโt get anyone to go with me for classes.
I wish I were going to stitches West – the double cables class would be my first choice
your video tutorials are very easy to follow ๐
I have tried crochet entrelac on my own. but I need help. I can.t attend Stitches, but I would love to win the yarn for this class.
I have been wanting to knit socks (I love my socks in the winter) and would have definitely enjoyed the How to master DPN’s.
I wish I could be there in person! My choice of class would be dual cables if I had to choose one (and not ALL of your classes!).
Hi Mary!! I would love to learn how to work the dual cables stitches and win the yarn to create a cool project!!
Darn autocorrect “Marly”
Iโm so jealous of people that get to go to these events. Maybe one day…
DPNโs have been on my time out pile for some time now, I would love to learn how to use them properly.
I wish I could go!
If I was going, I’d sign up for the Single-crochet Entrelac class!!
It would be an honour to learn entrelac with Marly.
I would love to take Interwoven Crochet class and any win of yarn would be icing on the cake!
Wow. I would love to be attending! The Miter class is my choice.
If I could attend, I’d take the single crochet entrelac class. Maybe when you’re on the east coast I’ll have a chance.
I would love the chance to see Interlocking Crochet
I would love to take your four play class. I’m starting to like working with dpns more than circular needles, but I still have problems.
I’d like to win yarn for Interwoven Crochet. Hopefully I’ll be able to learn the technique sometime soon.
If I could attend I am having a hard time deciding between the Interwoven and the Entrelac classes. Hmmmmmm…
I guess I will say the Interwoven class.
The Interwoven Crochet technique is beautiful!!!
Interwoven Crochet would be my choice, but it sure was hard to pick! I want to learn everything about everything LOL
I would love to learn the interwoven crochet!
I would love to go to Stitches someday. I think the class I would like to take would Dual Cables. I have not done those before.
“Miter me this, miter me that “is the class for me.
I cannot attend but the Interwoven Crochet class. looks like something I need!
The fair isle scarf would be a dream
I would chose dual cables. I have been wanting to try 2 color cables and also practice knitting different, more complex cables. I am currently making a mitered square shawl for my mother. It is the first piece I have knitted without having a pattern to start with. I am wondering what different stitches and techniques you might be using with mitered squares. The double crochet class also sounds interesting. I wish I could go to Stitches.
Single Crochet Entrelac would be the class I would attend.
My class of choice is: How to Master DPNs. DPNs are my favorite for socks, but some days they can be a bit of challenge.
I have always wanted to learn Single-crochet Entrelac. This would be the class I would attend.
So many to choose from. I think the knitted cables would do the trick.
I would love to take the Dual Cables class!
I would absolutely take the class on How to Master DPNs! I was looking for an easy hat pattern and all of the ones I looked at required DPNs.
Interwoven Crochet sounds like fun! I love colorwork!
I would love to take the Interwoven crochet class. I have taken Double Knitting classes and am intrigued by how to do it in crochet.
If I could attend Stitches West I would sign up for all your crochet classes, Marly. But since I have to choose just one for this contest, I choose Interwoven Crochet. Thank you, Marly Bird and Red Heat Yarns!
I would love to take the Miter this, Miter That class at Stitches West. Unfortunately I cannot attend this year.
I would love to win the yarn from the the single-crochet entrelac class….I have done some, but not so consistently that I have mastered it!! I so wish I could attend a class, but I live too far away! Happy Crocheting!!
I would like to take the Miter Me This, Miter Me That class but I can’t go to Stitches West. Maybe it’ll be offered at Stitched Midwest.

I would love to rake and learn Interwoven Crochet
Unfortunately I can5 actually attend, but if I could, iโd love to be a part of the interwoven crochet
The rafflecopter is not letting me comment, so I wanted to say that the supplies for the interwoven crochet would be what I would need if I were able to go to stitches this month. Will you be at the event in Pasadena the first weekend in November? I am about to need to travel for work and family things quite a bit in March and April, but November looks like a good time to travel for fun!
I oh so wish we had an event like Stitches West near me!!!
I would love any of the classes but would enjoy learning the interwoven crochet technique
I entered through the facebook link but it would not let me leave a comment there. I would love to take your dual cable class.
GREAT
I would take Interwoven Crochet or Four Play. I still struggle with dpns and I would live to learn entrleac crocheting. ๐
I think the Interwoven Crochet would be awesome!
I would love to take the Interwoven Crochet class next time I’m in Cali!
Interwoven crochet is the class Iโd love to take! Though The pajama party sounds like a great time!
I couldn’t get the raffle-copter to work. But I would love to win the supplies for the mitered squares class. Thank you!
If I could attend I’d take all Marlys classes. But would start with Four Play to increase my ability with Don. Dueling cables is a close 2nd.
I wish I could be there. It sounds like so much fun! All of your classes sound great, which is making it very difficult for an indecisive Libra such as myself to choose between them. Hmm. Decisions, decisions! I can envision such beautiful color combinations with the mitered squares but I think my heart has to go with the dual cables. Yup. Cables it is! Enjoy your time at Stitches West. ๐
Duel Cables, since I really love them and want to learn how to do it with two colors.
All the classes sound great. I think if I could only pick one then Miter Me This, Miter Me That would be my first choice. Then Dual Cables at 2nd and Single Crochet Entrelac 3rd. Wish I could go and attend all of the classes, sounds like fun!
I would take the dual cables class. That sounds interesting.
All of the classes sound amazing. I’d love the interlocking crochet, have never learnedf that one.
Miter me this, miter me that. I’ve been crocheting for 34 years at age 38 and it’s easy for me but I’m not as confident with knitting since it isn’t second nature yet.
Can I say all of them but if I have to chose it would be Miter me this, Miter me that
I would love to be there but I can’t! So sad I know you will have loads of fun and lots of stories to tell when you come back!
I would love to take your interwoven crochet class! That sounds so fun!
The interwoven crochet class sounds amazing! I would love to take that class if I was able to go to Stitches West.
Dual Cables!
Would like to win yarn for the dual crochet class. I live way too far away to attend stitches West
Would love to do interwoven crochet.
I have always wanted to learn interwoven crochet
So envious of the West Coast Yarners! Mastering DPNs, Crochet Entrelac, and Miter Me This/That sound both fun and challenging. I may have to look into Stitches United; I’ve never been to anything like it before but this sounds great!
Interwoven Crochet
Would love to learn the Dual Cables. Looking forward to seeing you at Stitches, my daughter is taking another class from you. It will be her 3rd I think
Miter me this sounds like an awesome class
I would like to take Miter Me This, Miter Me That
I would love to learn the interwoven crochet!
I think the Dual Cables class sounds like it would be interesting!
Have always wanted to go to one of these. I believe I’ll pick Dual Cables here. Recently mastered cables and they just fascinate me!
Iโve never taken a class but the songlw crochet entrlac sounds like fun!
I would love to learn the interwoven crochet.
Oooh, I really like having an Interlocking Crochet class! That’s one of my favorite crochet techniques; so-o-o snuggly and warm.
Dual cables. Always wanted to learn how to do that
I would love to take the dpn class!
I’m fascinated by entrelac, and would love to attend that class.
