Game Day Mystery Make-Along 8am Knitting Play

MEASUREMENT DETAILS

Gauge: 17 sts and 28 rows = 4” (10cm) in Stockinette Stitch. This is a blocked gauge. Gauge isn’t super important for this piece.

MATERIALS

Yarn: Red Heart Yarns, Chic Sheep by Marly Bird™ ,

Sample used 1 ball of each color (finished weight is 188 g)

  • Color A— CA
  • Color B— CB
  • Color C— CC
  • Color D— CD
  • Color E— CE

Needle: Size 9 24” circular

Notions: Stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle, wool wash (optional)

ABBREVIATIONS

M1: Make One (video help)

PM: Place Marker

YO: Yarn Over

K2tog: Knit two together

C4B: cable 4 back — slip 2 sts to the cable needle and hold to the back, knit 2 stitches from left hand needle, then knit the 2 sts from the cable needle. (video help)

C4B-P: cable 4 back purl — slip 2 sts to the cable needle and hold to the back, knit 2 stitches from left hand needle, then purl the 2 sts from the cable needle. 

C4F: cable 4 front — slip 2 sts to the cable needle and hold to the front, knit 2 stitches from left hand needle, then knit the 2 sts from the cable needle. (video help)

C4F-P: cable 4 front purl — slip 2 sts to the cable needle and hold to the front, knit 2 stitches from left hand needle, then purl the 2 sts from the cable needle.

Set up for 2 row stripes (view video for jogless stripes)

Round 4: Knit with CB

Round 5: Knit with CB

Round 6: Knit with CC

Round 7: Knit with CC

Rounds 8-11: Repeat rounds 4-7

Round 12-15: Repeat rounds 4-7 

Round 16: Knit with CB

Round 17: Knit with CB

Cut CB and CC leaving 6″ of tail to weave in later.
