About Salena Baca:

Salena Baca learned to crochet before grade school and has been wildly obsessed ever since!

After crocheting “in the closet” most of her life, Salena burst out after finding Ravelry in 2009. Learning that an entire world of crocheters were available to connect with was life-changing. It determined her next career move; crochet design and networking.

She began designing patterns that appealed to her style, and has formed platforms such as Salena Baca Crochet, the Design Wars Challenge, Happily Hooked MagazineThe Pattern Pack, and the American Crochet Association.

She’s published over 200 patterns, has very strong ties in the crochet and fiber arts community, and is the author of Crochet for Christmas and My Crochet Closet. Salena currently lives with her family in Oregon.

What a great podcast. Salena I love what you are doing and your concept of this type of training!! I’m very excited to look at the ACA website!! I have a full-time job, but wish crochet was my full-time job!! Love the concept of YARN LIFE, that you just talked about! Thank you for all of your information!

  2. Mary Alice says:

I will look up more information on your classes. My yarn life right now is changing. My local yarn store is going out of business. Saturday is the last day. I have taken advantage of some good sales and am in the process of organizing all my craft supplies and craft magazines. In addition to crochet and knitting, I also make jewelry, sew, and have started to quilt. So, I have a lot of supplies, and things started piling up when I had cancer and did not feel up to organizing. Our yarn store was a great place for knitters to congregate and get to know each other. I am working on keeping that going at another location. By the way I said knitters because I am the only one who does much crochet. So, that is my yarn life in flux. Thanks for the great podcast!

I cannot wait to retire so that I have more of a yarn life. When I have to bring home my yarn stash from my office I don’t know what my husband will say because he already thinks I have enough yarn at home! lol
