Beginner Crochet Shawl-Filet Crochet
The free crochet pattern Super Simple Shawl uses a crochet crowd favorite small filet crochet mesh stitch combined with easy picot border. Made with the amazingly soft and ultra colorful Colorscape yarn by Red Heart Yarns (see link below), this beginner crochet shawl is sure to become a favorite accessory either draped around the shoulders or around the neck like a shawlkerchief (my preferable way of wearing it ;-))

There are times when I like to just let a yarn speak to me. I let it tell me what it wants to be; that is exactly what happened with this design. I had ONE ball of the new Colorscapes yarn by Red Heart yarn and I knew I wanted to have something I could wear to my sons’ football game (their team colors are purple and gray). So, I chained enough to start a shawl that I could turn into a cowl.
What is that I said, a shawl that could be turned into a cowl? What does that look like? Well, let me show you! Better yet, I will tell you how you can make your own. It is super simple and you can make one in no time (this took me about 4 hours to make). Are you ready to make your own Super Simple Shawl?
If you learn better watching how things are made be sure to head over to the full instructions of this pattern to get a FREE video tutorial as well.
