Stunning String Studio:
Tom & Cindy Garland, the owners of Stunning String Studio, took over the business in early 2016. They moved the business to a new 5,000 square foot studio near their home in the cornfields of Northern Illinois, signed up to do several Fiber Events, and off they went.
We are featuring their kits and beading needle in our stocking stuffer this year. We love the beading needle tool as it will aid in making string beads much faster. There is a super tiny crochet hook at the end of the need which allows you to grab the yarn and place the bead where you want it.
The kits that can be found at Stunning String Studio are amazing. You will be able to find kits that are yarn and a pattern and some other special kits that include many more goodies. Be sure to check out all of their kits and yarn for your gift giving and receiving.

Twice Sheared Sheep:
This year I found this awesome new row counter that I will never be without when knitting. Before when using row counters I might forget to make a mark on my paper or forget to push the button at the end of the row. With these row counters you can’t forget!
By simultaneously using the row counter to count your rows and as a stich marker you are forced to move it up each round keeping your place. Check out their video to see how it works:

Creative with Clay:
I first saw the beautiful work from Creative with Clay at Stitches West this year. I was amazed at how detailed his work is and the fact that it looks like knitting is awesome! You can use the plates as spoon rests in your kitchen or I will be using mine as a jewelry dish in my kitchen.
Charan lived in India for a significant part of his life. The colors, fabrics, embroidery and designs he came across have a strong impact on his work now. Be sure to check out the other items that he has in his shop. I really love the knit mugs as well, but his other items show his true artistry in the details.
Clover:
Create beautiful fun-flowers in every season with wool, yarn, ribbon or raffia in different shapes and sizes. The Hana-Ami Flower loom is the perfect embellishing tool. The flowers can be joined together to make beautiful wearable art, home decore accessories and more.
Personally I love to use my flower loom to make package toppers and embellishments for cards. I love to add a personal touch to packages, no matter if I have made the item inside or not. Using the Hana-Ami Flower loom I can use up my scraps of yarn in a useful beautiful way.

COCO Knits:
COCO Knits has many great tools in their shop. Last year we talked about a few of them and this year we are continuing with their Makers Keep. I LOVE this tool! This is one of those tools that you didn’t know you needed until you get it. Although it may seem like you can keep your notions close to you it never fails that I loose a scissors or cable needle or stitch markers as I am working because I set them down thinking I will remember where they are. Now I really can remember where they are because it is stuck to my wrist.
The silicone slap bracelet sports a brushed steel-plated magnet, has measuring lines for inches and centimeters on the underside, and fits any size wrist. Originally designed to hold their row counter, stitch markers, and yarn snips — any steel accessories will cling to the magnet, so it is perfect for makers of all kinds.
I have been loving using it as I work to weave in my ends. With my Makers Keep I always know where my snips and my finishing needle are when I need them.
Chetnanigans:
Sean and Holly are a dynamite team behind Chetnanigans. The quality of product that they put out is outstanding. This year we are featuring their ScrapMate. A perfect tool for when you are weaving in ends. I don’t know about you but while I am finishing a project my pile of ends can get quite large. Rather than letting them sit out where they can be blown around and scattered across the room grab a ScrapMate to keep them all in control.
The ScrapMate is a compact, stained box with a removeable or hinged top. A 3/4″ hole in the top is designed for dropping in your yarn scraps and when full, simply empty your ScrapMate to start all over again!
Purchase the ScrapMate
Twenty Two West:
Mary, owner of Twenty Two West, was on the Yarn Thing Podcast earlier this year. We had such an amazing chat I knew that we should feature her again in our stocking stuffer post! We are featuring the Cloud Woven Necklace. This necklace is handwoven out of pure cotton threads in any of their twelve shades on a miniature loom. It is then stitched onto a gilded porcelain piece.

Creating with Sticks:
Everything you need for your knitting projects, besides your needles and yarn, all in ONE place! Earlier this year we featured the Creating with Sticks tool tins and they were a big hit. We knew that this would be an awesome Stocking Stuffer item so we are bringing it back again!
This handy Sassy Knitting Notions Tin is compact, portable and ready to go wherever your knitting takes you. If you knit on the run, you will have access to everything you need at your fingertips; no more forgetting things at home or creating substitute tools on the fly. This tool kit is also great for staying organized on the train during your commute to work, during road trips and air travel (be sure to check the current guidelines before taking this tin on your next flying trip).

Hana Crochet Designs:
Hana Crochet Designs is an artist that I found on Instagram. I was amazed by the detailed work that she does and knew that this would make an awesome stocking stuffer gift. Yes, many of you could probably make something like this but it always feels good to give another artist some business for a skill that they have learned that would take you time to master.
The crochet flowers that are featured in the designs are detailed and thought out. You will find a variety of designs and colors to make up your earring and necklace sets.
Roux Studios:
Another shop that I found through Instagram is Roux Studios. Roux hand paints each of her crochet hooks and is so talented in her details. You will find hand painted artisan hooks as well as rustic hooks on her website. The rustic hooks are hand carved from found wood. Investing in beautiful tools helps you feel great about the work that you are doing.

Katrinkles:
Katy, owner of Katrinkles, graduated from RISD as a jewelry and metalsmithing major in 2002. Working in fine jewelry left her with a need for a hobby different from my day job. A coworker taught her how to crochet. She discovered buttons and shawl pins to be the natural intersection of jewelry and textiles. It wasn’t long before she started adorning her knits. Making things for herself led to making things for others, and that’s how Katrinkles was born. I am amazed by the detail that Katy puts into her work.
OPTP:
As knitters and crocheters we are using our hands A LOT. By doing the same motions over and over we can work our joints hard. It is important to take care of our hands as they are one of our tools. We have talked about some books that are out there that talk about what you can do and in this stocking stuffer post we are featuring a kit that you can use to do exercises.
Ball Rolling for Happy, Healthy Hands – Essential Self-Care for Health and Relaxation provides exercises that are designed to rejuvenate and restore the power of our hands, one of our most valuable everyday tools. You can purchase the kit or you can get just the balls to do your own routine. This kit is perfect for knitters and crocheters or anyone else that uses their hands or does repetitive motions.

Long Island Yarn & Farm:
Not too long ago we had Long Island Yarn & Farm on the Yarn Thing Podcast. Maybe I should remind you by talking about Evan! He really stole the show!!! Last year we featured the Shepherdess Salve and this year we are going to talk about their Body Butter.
Their body butter contains 100% natural lanolin. It is a rich, unique blend of moringa oil combined with horsetail extract to give your skin the long lasting hydration, protection and nourishment it needs throughout the day. Yes, it will seem a little greasy when you first put it on but if you give is just a few minutes you will start to feel how wonderful it makes your skin feel. Best of all, because of what it is made of, you don’t need to reapply each time you wash your hands. This long lasting lotion will make your hands happy throughout the winter.

Now through December 31, 2018 you can get 25% off Body Butter using the code MB25
Walnut Farm Designs:
I found these awesome stitch markers on Etsy and knew that I had to share them with all of you. When I am working on a project I can forget what each of my markers mean, particularly if I put the project down for any length of time. Rather than pulling out the entire project or guessing wrong at what I was doing, you can use these labeled stitch markers to keep you on track.
Each package comes with a variety of common knitting stitches so that you always know what you should be doing when you get to each marker. Sometimes you have multiple things that you need to do in a pattern and this will help keep you on track without having to try and remember what each marker meant.
We are featuring two options, a dangling sheep or the round rings. Some people prefer not to have thing hanging from their knitting so you could go with the ring option.

Danware:
I am sure many if not all of you have worked on projects while you are in the car. Trying to keep your ball contained can be a challenge. I have found a great solution for working in a car, a travelers yarn bowl.
This awesome yarn bowl is made to fit inside your cup holder, and it is off-set to avoid interference with the driver’s coffee cup! Best of all you can remove the attachement on the bottom and have a regular yarn bowl for when you are not traveling, not need for two yarn bowls.
Both yarn bowl and Traveller are hand turned, sanded, and polished with woodturner’s finish and wax to highlight the natural beauty of the wood. The wood used for the yarn bowls and Travellers is locally sourced from arborists or friends who cut down a tree and has been cured for several months up to a year prior to being turned, sanded and finished for your enjoyment. The husband and wife team behind Danware have a lot of pride in their handmade product, and it shows.

MateriaMorfosi:
If you haven’t noticed a theme this year is tools to make things easier. One of the things that I find most fiddly while working is using a cable needle. Picking it up and putting it down all of the time to work your stitches can be a challenge. I found this great ring that is a cable needle to keep your tools right at your finger tips, literally.
You can put it on when you are ready to knit and use it to hold your cable stitches. You are not going to loose your cable needle any more because it will be on your finger! You can purchase the ring in german silver, sterling silver 925 or copper.

Yoola Designs:
Yoola Designs, run and owned by Yael, is based out of Israel. This method is called the ISK (invisible spool knitting). To Americans this term is a little off since to work this technique you use a form and a crochet hook. Yael developed the tool that is used as the started for this technique and has created many different beautiful jewelry pieces and DIY kits. Working with wire and a crochet hook you can make pieces that are so different from the regular crochet stitches.
Creative Handmade Market:
Sometimes making a crochet finished item isn’t what your loved ones want. What you make them will get stored in the back of a closet never to be worn. Rather than making them something to wear why not make them something to decorate their tree?
These beautiful beaded ornaments can be purchased as a kit, a finished ornament or even as just the pattern. After working up the ball shape you will need to stuff it to keep the shape and add the topper to hang from your tree. This is a piece that can be made for everyone on your list allowing you to do your hobby and for them to get something to remember you each year as they pull it out to hang on their tree.

Beaditch:
I took a metal stamping class once and we were told to pick a word that was important to us to put on our bracelet. We picked one word that meant a lot to us because we were going to wear it around all of the time. When I found these stamped bracelets I knew that they were perfect for all of you. This way you can wear you love of knitting on your wrist all of the time, even if you aren’t working with your needles.

Chudibeads:
Crocheting with beads is a fun way to take your skill to another level. You can crochet with beads to add some sparkle to your shawls or other patterns or you can work with beads to make jewelry. The kits sold by Chudibeads will have all that you need to make your bracelet, minus a crochet hook. Best of all the beads come PRESTRUNG!!! You don’t have to worry about getting the pattern right! You will get a copy of the pattern so that you could make the bracelet again if you wanted to.
Along with kits you can find finished items as well. This is a great way to be able to wear the craft that you love beyond scarves or sweaters.
Furls:
Furls has been doing a great job of coming out with wonderful ergonomical hooks. They started out with their very custom hooks and then branched out into a few other lines, included a stream line which is at a lower price point. Adding in jewelry, bags, cases and more into their mix they are able to provide us with a lot of options.
This year they have introduced their wooden needle case. Coming in two sizes you can pick a large or small and you have a choice of two different woods. The large needle cases measure 1″ in diameter and 3.65″ tall while the small needle cases measure 0.65″ in diameter and 3.125″ tall. Both capsule can hold 30-40 sewing needles.

Grab a pair of socks from the Buffalo Wool Company to give to your has everything friend. They will be able to appreciate the make up of the sock and the fact that they will have super warm feet all winter long. All of their socks are made in the USA using bison fiber. Why bison you ask?
Bison wool is soft; no prickle, scratch, or itch, just soft and cozy. Bison wool is warm; the crimpy down creates thousands of tiny air pockets all insulating you as no other fiber. Bison wool is lightweight; the fine down is light weight but durable, it gets softer with wear. Better yet it is Hypo-Allergenic and easy to care for. Because its not hollow or have barbs like wool, it doesn’t shrink.
