10am Game Day Mystery Make-Along 2019

10am Play ????

After the event, it was pointed out to me that many knitters had trouble getting gauge with the size needle I used. Therefore, I am updating the needle information below to use smaller circular needles on the ribbing portion of this project. (updated 2.6.19)

Gauge: 18 twisted ribbing stitches = 4″ with size 6 needle slightly stretched; after the inc rnd, the piece should measure approx. 1 1/4″ tall. It is better to have these really snug vs too loose.

Measurements: The diameter of the piece is approx. 6″. C = pi * d calculates the circumference (distance around the outside of the circle). D in the formula refers to the diameter which is the width of the circle. Therefore, the circumference = 3.14 * 6 = 18.84″. But remember, the ribbing has stretch.

Using smaller 16” circulars, using the long tail cast on, cast on 112

Place marker to distinguish start of rnd, then join to work in the round on the following rounds.

Rnds 1-7: Knit 1 through the back leg, p1; repeat around
Inc Rnd: *K1, kfb; repeat from * around — 168 sts

Yes, this is a large amount of stitches and the project will look really large until you get to the decreases but it is supposed to be large. Just be sure to get gauge on all parts of the project.
