Gauge 

8 sts in pattern and 7 rows = 4” [10 cm]; use any size hook to obtain the gauge. 

MATERIALS

Yarn 

Red Heart Super Saver Ombre  (100% acrylic, 482 yds / 440 m, 10 oz/ 283 g, CYCA4 X worsted) 

Color A: # Spearmint , 2 balls

Color B: # Violet, 2 balls

Hook

Size K (6.5 mm) or any size hook to obtain the gauge.

*in the video Marly used a 8mm hook to better show the stitches; choose a hook size that works for you.

Notions 

Tapestry needle, Stitch Marker, pom pom maker (optional)

NOTES

  • Hold two strands of yarn together throughout. 1 strand of color A and 1 strand of color B. 
  • Start with the darkest shade of color A, and the lightest shade of color B. 
  • When changing to new balls of yarn start off where you left off to continue the ombre look.
  • If you want to change the size of the blanket, chain an even number and work an odd number of stitches that works for the size and gauge you want.

BLANKET

Hold two strands of yarn together (1 strand from color A and 1 strand from color B)

Chain 76.

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *dc in next ch, sc in next ch; repeat from * to end, turn — 75 sts. 

Row 2 (WS): Stacked Dc in first sc, sc in next dc, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc; repeat from * to last stitch, dc in last sc, turn.

Row 3 (RS) : Sc in first dc, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc; repeat from * to end, turn. 

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until piece measures approx. square. 

FINISHING

Fasten off, weave in all ends. 

Make 4 pom poms and attach to the four corners of the blanket for a little something extra.
