Yarn Thing Podcast with Marly Bird

Yarn Thing Podcast with Marly Bird was the subject of today’s program.

That’s a little unusual, we know. The guest that was scheduled e-mailed us that she was sick, hoping she gets well soon. We had to cancel the last episode because of Marly’s computer issues and there won’t be an episode at Stitches West, Marly will be teaching a class on cables right about then.

YarnOverWe are so excited about upcoming events. When Pam from Wisconsin called in we asked if she was close enough to get over to the Minnesota Knitting Guild for the Yarnover event, April 25th. Marly will be teaching cables there, too, coincidentally!

In between these two events, we mentioned but didn’t get to talk about it much is in March at Crafty Hands in Bowling Green, KY. This is a 3-day event, Marly will be teaching on Friday and Saturday.

MBCardiganMarly opened the phones up for questions and one of them was about this lovely cardigan, the popular duster length with great swing and drape. Marly added two items to her to-do list for after Stitches West, to get that posted and video of Crocheted I-chord!

marlybasementThere was some banging going on in the background, Marly is upgrading a large area of her basement, to make a video studio space and office area for podcasting. That is very exciting, but hope construction noise wasn’t too distracting.

If you missed getting to hear the program it is still available as an archive at https://www.blogtalkradio.com/yarnthing/2015/02/17/yarn-thing-with-marly-bird or in iTunes

Thank you so much for your show. I just wanted to let you know that I won the Christian Omdahl book a couple weeks ago, and when I got it in the mail instead of Ebook version I was so stoked. What a beautiful book. I hope to meet you in March when you come here to Kentucky.

What a sweet surprise this episode was! I loved listening to your banter with Tammy and the spontaneity of the call in question and answer session was delightful. If I’d had a chance to call in I would have asked ” Are you still thinking of hosting your own retreat? If so, would you consider a location in the beautiful high country in western Colorado?” The Front Range already has their share of cool retreats and fiber happenings. Let’s get some of that woolly love going over here on this side of the divide.
PS I live near Grand Junction thus the geographical bias.

I enjoyed the episode as usual. It was great to hear from Tammy again since the FiberHooligan podcast is no longer posting. Maybe Tammy can be a guest once a month or something so we can hear from her again. I loved the pieces she would present on FiberHooligans. It’s just a thought. Your podcast is one I always keep up to date with even when life gets hectic. I’ve learned so much about products, new patterns, designs, designers, yarns, needles, you name it for anything fiber related goodness by listening to your show.

I really enjoyed hearing from you and Tammy and your call in guests. Imagining the construction going on was an added bonus. Sure wish I could be at Stitches West, especially for the pajama party! At my knitting group meeting a few weeks ago we discussed what a trip of a k lifetime that would be (being that we’re on the east coast… ). Stay safe and warm out there! – KVL

    Hi Marly and Tammy,
A great improv show. It is great to hear all about your home improvements for a new studio and office and that Tammy might come to Colorado?? I hope I get to meet you, Marly, at the Loveland or Estes Park events this year in Colorado. Thank you both for doing all that you do for the show. CT

Hi Marly! I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to create your lovely podcast. I love listening to you interview your great guests. Someone once said to you that she could here your smile when you talk, so true! I live so far away, (wistfully) maybe one day I’ll get to come over to the US for one of the Stitches Shows! I just listened to the Brown sugar voice of Benjamin Levisay…what a gentleman! Lovely!
