You require 1 strand of wire folded in half which gives 2 strands for the Bead Marker.

I loved watching this video because I am into crafting with beads! Only one wire is used per stitch marker but when it is doubled over and has the crimped bead put on it ends up with two strands. This could be like a trick question almost, lol!

Not sure how to answer this. You use one physical strand folded in half but you said the strand you were using was a size 19 meaning it was made of 19 strands?
