This podcast was fascinating to me. I’ve been stalking crochet for some time now, especially Tunisan crochet. Im definitely going to look for her new book. Thanks Marly for entertaining me each week as I sit and knit.
My oh my. What magic we can make with loops! Let’s go loopy with Tunisian crochet.
To be loopy or loop tunisian crochet is fun.
I met Dora at Vogue knitting in January 2012 and she got me to try post stitching which opened up a new view of crochet. I am sure she will get me to go loopy and give loop tunisian crochet a try.
I am fascinated by Tunisian crochet and love Dora’s work and the history she shares in her articles! I would certainly “Loop-loop” (uh, I mean “Whoop-whoop!”) for joy if I won a copy of her new book! Love the show, Marly, thanks for all your hard work!
Listened to the interview today. It was great because I loop the yarn for Tunisian crochet.
Great interview with Dora! I already ordered the book so I won’t use the magic word for the contest. I am just dying to get my copy. To save on shipping, I ordered it together with Sheryl Thies new Tunisan book. That one isn’t out so the shipment is delayed. Arrrgh! Maybe Monday! Thanks for having Dora on. All her books are great.
This was a great podcast with Dora. Knowing which loop the hook is going into is always helpful. All of Dora’s books are really informative. Thanks!
Great podcast! I’ve done some basic Tunisian crochet, but would love to “get in the loop” and learn fancier stitches!
great interview with a wonderful crochet ambassador! I would love to make at least one Tunisian project this year and reacquaint myself with the loops made on the big hooks. I will probably have to buy some of the new cable ones though. nice to have new tools.
Marlybird, your podcast is so wonderful! I am a new listener and am enjoying all the episodes!!! You always ask your guests when and how they got started with their crafting, so i wanted to share my current crafty obsession with you. I started to crochet last year when my mom moved to live near us. She joined the crochet club at her retirement community, and the group makes granny square blankets for hospice patients. So now I’m hooked (haha)!!
Sending many thanks greetings from Nashville!!
Sandra
*Thanks and greetings*
Thanks for keeping us in the loop with all the great new crochet and knit books. I made a Tunisian crochet swatch many years ago, thinking I would take it up, but never did. Last year I found my old Tunisian hook and made another swatch. It is time to make an actual project! I would like to make the skirt featured in Dora’s book. That is great and could be worn for so many functions. I like that Dora is also a fellow higher education professional! She is really multi-talented.
Great show! It was awesome to learn that Tunisian can be practiced with my regular hooks. Thanks, Marly, for continuing to keep us in the loop. It seems like everything I learn about what’s new in the industry can be traced back to one of your podcast episodes.
How coincidental. I’m currently working on a tunisian crochet afghan. Love the loop, and the denseness of it. What would we do without our loops.
I really enjoyed this episode with Dora. Marly, you always keep us in the loop with the guests you have!
Thanks for a great show on Tunisian. I’ve still got a Tunisian simple stitch afghan my mom made me back in the late 70’s with a Star Wars theme, although it’s now got a big hole in one of the joining seams and you can see a big loop where the yarn is coming through.
I’ve become loopy over Tunisian Crochet. I cannot get enough of it. Thanks for reviewing this new Tunisian Crochet book!
What a great podcast, and thanks for all the history! Tunisian crochet looks like a great new adventure, and it amazes me what a variety of stuff you can do with just a few loops of yarn…
Thanks for another great show! I love Dora’s books, they are always so easy to learn from. I haven’t tried Tunisian crochet yet, I did just download a craftsy class to try and learn. Dora’s new books sounds like a great way to learn the technique. Thanks for keeping us in the loop of all of these great topics!
Great show! I haven’t crocheted for a while. But would love to look at Tunisian Crochet. I just need to get back in the crochet loop.
I loved listening to this episode! Dora is bringing so much to the world of crochet, and I have really enjoyed her books so far. I was a bit out of the loop with this new one – but now that I have heard all about it, I’m going to have to get my hands on it!!
Great show. I ordered Custom Crochet Sweaters & an Addi Click crochet hook set after listening to your podcast. Been swatching for my own designs while listening. Would love to win Dora’s book & the keyword is loop.
I’d like to get in the loop, too!
Loved the show…Looply yours
