Perfect Knit and Crochet Shawl for Cold Weather

Shawl lovers unite! No matter the craft, knitters and crocheters can agree shawls are the perfect accessory. So many ways to make them, gauge not super important, all yarn work, and the construction possibilities are endless. Join me and Moogly as we explore both crafts and two different ways to make beautiful shawls, one knit shawl and one crochet shawl.

Better Together

Truly we are better together. Working together with other designers inspires us and expands what we are capable of doing. I LOVE working with Tamara and being part of the Yarnspirations team.

For this winter we thought that it would be fun to work on a project together. Tamara is making a crochet shawl and I am working on a knit version. Once we had the type of pattern selected we talked about what yarn we would use.

Chic Sheep by Marly Bird™ yarn

Working with Yarnspirations gives us a plethora of yarn to pick from. We decided to use Chic Sheep by Marly Bird™ because it is 100% Merino Wool. I know that some people say that wool is scratchy but this wool has been treated to make it super soft! It is also machine washable making it a super great option for gift giving! I can’t forget to tell you that there are also 24 colors to pick from!!!

Marly’s Knit Shawl

For this collaboration I worked on the perfect knit shawl for winter. This stunning shawl can be wrapped around your shoulders or worn like a bandana around your neck. Either way it is an amazing accessory.

Written into 4 easy sections, you can make this shawl is in no time! And did I mention that it is a free knit pattern? Download the FREE Mariposa Chic Knit Shawl: https://marlybird.com/free-knitting-patterns/mariposa-chic-knit-shawl/

Tamara’s Crochet Shawl

For this collaboration Tamra made a super great crochet shawl. She held together two strands of Chic Sheep by Marly Bird™ throughout the pattern. Don’t you just LOVE the way that turned out!!!
