About Jenny:

Jenny Bessonette is Executive Director of the Craft Yarn Council (CYC), a nonprofit trade association that represents major yarn, needle/hook manufacturers, publishers, and consultants to the yarn industry and is Assistant Executive Director of the Warm Up America! Foundation, one of the industry’s leading charities.

Jenny joined CYC in 2010 as Director of Discover Classes to implement knit and crochet classes in all Michaels stores. She became Assistant Executive Director of CYC in 2014 and was promoted to Executive Director in 2016. Prior to joining the Craft Yarn Council, Jenny worked for six years at Michaels Stores corporate office in inventory management for yarn.

About Humans that Yarn:

Yarn encompasses a wide array of crafts, including knitting, crochet, macrame, weaving, punch needle and much more. But more than that, yarn encompasses a wide array of people. Humans That Yarn (HTY) is an inclusive campaign that aims to showcase all the different types of crafts that can be made with yarn and the different types of people who identify as a yarnist.

#humansthatyarn, I am one of them and proud of it. All of my childhood crafts and hobbies are becoming fad again. So great to have time once again to do all the yarn art that I loved doing in the 70’s. 🙂

I’m itching to learn to knit, I just need to find some needles and get started. I watched your sock series and I want to do them soon. I’ve been watching knitting podcasts and I want so bad to do socks and the cozy memories blankets. My grandfather used to loom knit hats for different church related charities and donations.

Great podcast and I wish that I had made the live. I seem to always miss those. I made 1 of them this week lol but was having issues with my internet connection being too slow for the live 🙁 Anyway, I am one of the #HumansThatYarn I have so many yarny crafts that I do. I , of course, knit and crochet, but I also do embroidery, cross-stitch, knit and crochet with the floss for embroidery and cross-stitch, yarn bombing, weaving, felting, needle point, plastic canvas, bead, jewelry making, loom knit and lots and lots more lol. I do want to learn how to tat and macromae (sorry can’t spell it. Probably should learn how to spell that word before I learn to do the craft lol.)
