PATTERN NOTES

Directions are for the Ladies size; with Mens size in parentheses.

Watch the video for variations to the eye of partridge heel flap.
If you are working along with a second set of double pointed needles and yarn to combat the dreaded second sock syndrome, be sure to complete the heel flap of your second sock as well. And if you make any changes be sure to make the same changes on the second sock.
Rejoice, you are back to using only two needles for a short period of time 😉

PATTERN (cont.)

Heel Flap
The heel is worked back and forth in rows on 24 (32) sts beginning with the wrong side row and ending with a right side row.

Notice, the number of stitches worked on the heel flap is 1/2 the total number of stitches you cast-on for the cuff.

Using the last needle of the round (this is needle 4), knit across all the stitches on needle 1. You should now have a total of 24 (32) sts on one needle. TURN YOUR WORK!
Row 1 (WS): K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 2 (RS): K3, *with yarn in back slip 1 stitch as if to purl, k1; repeat from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 3 (WS): K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 4 (RS): K3, *k1, with yarn in back slip 1 stitch as if to purl; repeat from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Repeat rows 1-4 until you have 24 (32) rows in heel flap.

Notice, the number of rows worked on the heel flap is the same number as the stitches on the heel flap.
