While I was working on a swatch for the amazingly cozy Braided Cable Knit Throw video I filmed for Red Heart yarn I absolutely fell in love with the yarn. As soon as I was done with the video I made the decision to continue on with the swatch and turn it into a scarf. I did make simple changes with the number of rows for the ribbing and the number of rows between cable rows which makes a more elongated braided cable.

Finished Measurements

10” wide x 80” long. The fabric of the yarn has a LOT of stretch and give so these measurements are approximate.

Gauge

12 sts = 4″ [10 cm]; 14 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side). 12 sts = 4″ [10 cm]; 18 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in Garter stitch (knit each stitch in every row). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needle to obtain the gauge. Exact gauge is not critical to this project.
